Title: What people from 1900 thought 2000 would look like

These crazy images were created by French artist Jean-Marc Cote, and a few others back in 1899, 1900, 1901, and 1910.

Basically they were asked to imagine what life would be like in the year 2000.

Maybe they thought Underwater Bases would be a thing a la "The Spy Who Loved Me" and "Underwater".

The comic series Aeon Flux(90ies) also captures that style a bit, albeit it hints at the more "sinister" and "dark" components.

Well, it didn't quite turn out like that.
