Gold's Gym filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Monday. The gym chain had temporarily closed locations during the coronavirus pandemic. It later announced it would close 30 company-owned locations for good.
"We want to be 100 percent clear that Gold's Gym is not going out of business," President and CEO Adam Zeitsiff said in a press release. "The brand is strong, and we'll continue to innovate and grow our digital business, our licensing program and our global footprint as we focus on serving our millions of members across the world.

Hardly. Chap 11 let's a company survive while paying debts. It's a smart move. The government shut down gyms. How would you do anything different if your revenue source suddenly evaporated?

There maybe stumbles along the way. Bodybuilders may no longer have Booster Briefs*, and have to settle for rolled up socks instead. The Gold's Gym maybe replaced by a Crossfit box or UFC gym. Room 7 at Mirage might have turned into a palace in Dubai.
But as long as there are men willing to don the sacred thong, there will always be bodybuilding. As long as there are men willing to hold the line, and occasionally step over it for a wealthy schmoe, there will be always bodybuilding. As long as there are men occasionally willing to have their arm pits fucked, then wither the cold gaze of the ice machine down the hall in the hopes of a plastic trophy..... There will always be bodybuilding!

Monday is the international Chest day.
And that is the perfect name for it. When I was in high school I would draw up the most detailed blueprint to become a muscle machine. These programs would have dropped Lee Haney the Mr. Olympia at the time. On Monday I would crush chest with an assortment of exercises, high volume and as much intensity as I could muster. On Tuesday (back day) I was too sore and worn out so I took the day off. On Wednesday it was time for legs but I hated training legs so I skipped that. By Thursday I had already blown it for the week so I would take the rest off to go again on Monday which would again always be chest.
I had a toothpick body with awesome pecs.
