Interesting. I read something about California beaches opening up in today's Oregonian. It would seem the media knows these things before they are officially announced.
More California beaches allowed to open
Less than a week after California Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered all Orange County beaches to close to stem the spread of the coronavirus, state officials announced Tuesday that three beach cities will be permitted to reopen their stretches of coastline this week with certain limitations.
Dana Point, Huntington Beach and Seal Beach submitted plans to Sacramento that would allow the public to immediately access the coastline.
The plans, approved Tuesday, include a range of measures to avoid overcrowding and allow safe physical distancing, according to the California Natural Resources Agency.
The move comes a day after similar plans for Laguna Beach and San Clemente were approved by the state. Wire reports

No sunbathing.
Funny. You'd think sunbathing at with social distancing of 6' would be safer than playing beach volley ball.

Beaches opened by me but no boardwalks. I love running on the boards in NJ.

It’s not being enforced here in HB, Seal or Newport

If I had to pick a nice place in the USA to live, one of the places on my mind would definitely be Hayden Island.

If I had to pick a nice place in the USA to live, one of the places on my mind would definitely be Hayden Island.
Hayden Island is a great place to live. It is often very windy and in the winter it can be chilling. Hayden Island doesn't cover much territory being only 1.69 sq mi (4.38 km2).
At the end of June for many years, I attend a three day OSEA conference on Hayden Island at the Red Lion. Unfortunately, the conference is in limbo this year as a result of COVID-19. Even if it's a go, I'm not sure how many folks will risk showing up. Most years we have at least 350 delegates plus union staff and other attendees. That is a lot of people in one conference hall. There is absolutely no way this could be done in a way that accommodates social distancing. Each table seats ten people and the tables are so close together that there is barely passage between them. I am on the conference committee once again and I am a delegate as well. Honestly, I am not sure I would go if it actually happens. The committee is having a pre-conference meeting via Zoom this coming Saturday. It will be very interesting to see what everyone's thoughts are about holding conference this year. It is also possible that Governor Brown will maintain a ban on large gatherings. In which case the decision will be made for us.
Most of the residential housing on Hayden Island is town homes and house boats because land is in short supply. A view of the Columbia river from the windows of one's townhouse would be great and fairly expensive. But hey, you are rich so that shouldn't pose a problem.
