Never forget just how good Larry Bird was

Other-worldly.

Other-worldly.
his IQ jumps off the screen, never seen it so obvious maybe apart from Jordan and Magic.
-
bird was a taller newer version of pistol pete &t=91s
-
Pistol Pete was magician.

Man....I loved me some Larry Joe Bird. Hated the Pistons, haha.
The midwest work ethic appealed to me as a kid. Huge Celts fan.
Supposedly he hurt his back shoveling gravel in his mother's driveway - wasn't nearly the same after maybe '88. Was hit and miss up to '91 but could have had a few more good years into the mid 90s if not for that back.

Those little finger flip passes show you how good that team chemistry was. Those dudes loved playing with him.

His knees were shot too.

Those Pistons were bad asses. I was watching a show about Len Bias just yesterday. Imagine if he had panned out for the Celtics? He would have been hitting his prime right around the same time as Jordan and he'd have helped Larry Bird and company fight for the top spot in the east for a couple more years. What a sad, sad tale of wasted talent/life.

Incredible
I remember seeing a game a long long time ago where he managed to steal the ball in the last few seconds , all they had to to was keep hold of it and he read a back pass, I think it was in the video there but not sure

I can still name the whole Bad Boy team...they were a perfect team for a city like THE D....dirty. ;D
They came up as the Celts were slowing down from that '86 run and you could just see they were going to peak as a superior physical team and win a championship.
Len Bias and Reggie Lewis were just two unfortunate situations for sure.

I hate to admit it but had Len Bias become a superstar he probably would have helped the Celtics hold off the Pistons until the Bulls were ready. Fuck, forgot about Reggie Lewis. Tragedies. No doubt.

It’s funny. I’m not a big basketball guy, but I was watching Larry Bird highlights a few days ago and was amazed how good he was. Total stud

Crazy to think that Bird was the last great white American player, and he's been out of the league almost 30 years. We are due for another great white hope!
-
Dirk Nowitzki...
Luka Doncic is pretty solid.
Porzingis...but big white guys break down quick.

Where have you been. Dirk has been in the league for over 20 years and just retired last season
Luka has been phenomenal

He said white american, dirk is german and Luka is Slovenian.I wouldnt call Dirk great either, apart from his 2011 playoff run.He wasnt in the Magic/Jordan/Lebron/Bird/Kareem/Shaq/Duncan level.

I'm a huge Larry Bird fan. The man was a basketball God.

They were dope to watch as a kid but the weirdest collection of players ever. mchale, parish, johnson, bird, just weird. boston matches golden state 3s for 3s but murders them inside the paint. detroit just flat out mauls lebron. maybe he gets 1 ring in that area but not 3.

The Boston team just moved awkwardly.Even Bird until he got injured looked slow. He actually wasnt, his vertical also at draft was the same as Kevin Durants.Same with Mchale, Ainge, Parish,Walton, even DJ.Looked like someone pulled them out of the 60s.
