"Guy" is a French name, it's pronounced the same way a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gi is pronounced.  Guy rhymes with ski.

Gaetano Cisternino is his real name, and I went to the BSN one year to talk to him, assuming his name was the French spelling.

But no - it's "Guy", pronounced the way the word guy is.  He spells it Guy, rather than the logical shortening of his name, which would be Gae.

Little update for you guys who been asking me. I’m in the ER, not sure exactly what it is yet, I just got saw by a nurse that thinks it’s a blood clot so I’m waiting testing and to see the doctors/specialists. Another day in the bad luck chronicles of Guy lol. All seriousness I’m hopping it’s nothing but by the looks, feel, and symptoms it’s definitely something, just not sure what it is. Stay safe guys, and God Bless!

That's what I thought at first, until I realized his name was Gaetano, so he shortens it to Guy, pronounced the way the word guy is pronounced, rather than the French way, which is said the same as Guy.

I'm not sure if it's a thing among Italians in the Anglosphere to shorten Gaetano to Guy.  I suppose he thought if he shortened it to Gae, that people would think his name was Gay Cisternino.

Either way it may well be some time before this midgie is back on his knees feet and singin', "Heigh-Ho!  Heigh-Ho!  It's off to Schmoe, I go.  I can't stay sick gotta suck a dick, Heigh-Ho!  Heigh-Ho!"

Height can matter in a bodybuilding contest but I think that two of the best built men of the 70s were Franco Columbu and Danny Padilla.  The latter was like a smaller version of Arnold.  But the subject of this thread is just another overoided man-child.

Our own "Coach" is not a tall man but he is still first and foremost a Man.  My late brother in law was 5' 5" and his wife, my sister, was 5' 7".  He used to joke that he did wish he was 6' 6" but only because he wouldn't "drag" anymore.

Never in my life have I complained about my height which is why when people poke fun about it, it doesn’t get to me. Never had a problem with women as well. Tallest girl I’ve dated was 5’11, most of you would know her.

Yes, i did. Haven’t been back since they recently moved. Sold to a Swedish guy who is the owner now. Loved it there, had so many different equipment and a lot of serious lifters

Really?  I suppose Italians are a large[r, relatively speaking] percentage of the American population.

Here in Thunder Bay, Canada, Italians are 10% of the population!

I can honestly say that I have not met another Gaetano, nor a female Gaetana.

Have you ever met any Calogero's in New Jersey, good sir?

It was sold to Michael Johansson, he’s owner of Gasp. Their headquarters is in Sweden but their US distribution is in Texas (Destination). I’ll be out there as my show gets closer.

Nice to know. I didn’t know that, never met him. I knew the old owner Greg who is a class act, he opened up Hidden Gym which is close to the new location of destination. Kuclo works out there a long with a handful of amateurs. You should check that out too. Both are located in Allen, TX. Allen, and McKinney are next to each other and very good suburbs, nice places to raise a family, middle to high income areas, crime is very little, people are respectful, and the demographic is primarily white 90 percent if that’s important to some  ;D
