So they starved themselves until they got skinny, ate like crazy for a month while lifting weights and then they got big again?  Nobel Prize to Arthur Jones, haha

I remember a guy that talked to Boyer Coe commenting about the Casey experiment saying Casey did a lot more lifting than the Nautilus program he was put on. True or not, I don't know?

I don't know if he did that during the Colorado experiment but he definitely did later on.  I remember reading his training routine in the 80's and he trained with a lot of volume.  Why would he ditch HIT if it worked so well?

Yes, he trained for his best ever condition with volume and he used plenty of it. I remember Mentzer commenting about his abandonment of HIT in his writings.  Also David Young trained in the same gym as Casey and he said he used around 15 sets a body part. The picture shown below is the result. Was he claiming to be a HIT guy because Arthur Jones was his employer?

On a side note I remember asking how his health was maybe a year before he died because I saw a picture of him looking bloated and fat. He wrote back all his blood and urine tests came back perfect.  Needless to say the determination of health is more than lab blood work. Your VO2 max, resting heart rate, blood pressure and how fast your heart lowers after exertion are other important indicators. May he rest in peace. Having said that I could drop dead today too. Don't mistake what I wrote as a dig against him. He was an amazing bodybuilder.

Very true, plus this too:

Waist-to-height ratio more accurate than BMI in identifying obesity, new study shows

"Carrying fat around the abdominal area has been shown to be an independent predictor of all-cause mortality in men and women. Put simply, it is more important, especially for cardio-metabolic conditions, that your belt notch goes down than the reading on the scales."

The results showed that the best predictor of both whole-body fat percentage and VAT in both men and women was waist-to-height ratio (WHtR). The simple waist circumference divided by height measurement is not a new method of obesity classification but despite evidence supporting its use, it is still not routinely measured in clinical settings. Cut-points for predicting whole body obesity were 0.53 in men and 0.54 in women. The cut-point for predicting abdominal obesity was 0.59 in both sexes.
