Title: Social Gathering vs Protests - Rules
Post by: Ron on June 09, 2020, 08:36:24 AM

This is actually real???

Guys, instead of having a birthday party this weekend, I am going to have a protest event!  This way, instead of the max 12 people, I can have 100 people! Keep in mind this is for an 'outside' event.

Am I missing something here?

A birthday protest.  ;D  Inspired.

If you require signatories:

We, the crusty undersigned, do hereby affirm our commitment to protest the unfair actions of the passage of time. We demand government initiatives be enacted to address these injustices.

Car race draws thousands after dubbing itself a ‘protest’

A North Carolina speedway drew a crowd of more than 2,000 spectators in defiance of the state’s coronavirus restrictions after declaring the race a “protest."

The governor’s office previously warned Ace Speedway in Elon, North Carolina, that a crowd of more than 25 would violate the state’s phase two of reopening in the midst of COVID-19 restrictions.

But it’s possible more than 2,000 people attended a race Saturday night, WSOC-TV reported.

Ace Speedway workers performed temperature checks before people went inside the track, according to the news station.

A sign from management outside the speedway said, “This Event is held in Peaceful Protest of Injustice and Inequality Everywhere.”

The local sheriff’s office said it is “evaluating the events.”

Who determines what is and is not a protest? Me thinks this will go to the SC eventually.

You’re allowed to have mass protests and riots but you can’t sing in church...

How would you force a huge crowd of people to stay home? You can’t without violence so why bother. It seems hypocritical, and is, but this is a no win situation.

Look how many people attending the Floyd funeral service today.  THey has 500 people.  People who recently lost their love ones could only have 10 Max.
