Damn, how embarassing. The thing here is that there are very few such attempts in a man's life, you don't just fix it and go again, not that day or even another day necessarily. Julius might die any day anyway, he is a very unhealthy person. We'll see what happens in the future.

What morons..... that's cost him that lift and as said above he may not get another shot at it.....
All that work in the buildup gone cause these idiots can't count plates.
-
more impressed with this guy.

Adds new meaning to the term "Meathead". Fucking morons, he got hurt on the lift too.

Powerlifting gets one of its few ever moments in the spotlight and completely screws the pooch. They should have made it look more professional anyway. 20 guys standing around screaming and walking around the bench and they can't even count or have an official who checks the weight before it is attempted. They really need to look at how Olympic weightlifting handles things. Olympic lifting is way bigger worldwide than powerlifting even though powerlifting is much more fun to do and to see for spectators if they do it right.

That could've been a career ender for him. The shock on the system, etc... from handling that much weight in a misload. Also to look that stupid in front of ESPN? Shameful.

Shouldn't judge have counted the plates and weight before the lift? Absolutely horrible, the mental and physical impact could have cost him the record.

Maybe they did it on purpose
Probably due to racism

Yes, and the judge was no other than Ed Coan ...you can see the look on his face at 1:50.
