Depends what they're in for. Lots of guys serving time for having a bag of drugs in their pocket. No stealing, no violence, no dealing, just possession of drugs for personal use. I don't consider that a crime. Lots of people in the system for that who never should have been, corona or not.
Technically, that's a "go away, gubment" stance, yet the right wing seems to favor strong government intervention when it comes to drugs. I never got that. Leave a man to his liberty unless there's a very compelling reason not to.

I don't think it'll matter. If the Dems had picked someone halfway decent (again, Gabbard would have crushed Trump) or distanced themselves from the rabid left to invite middle America in, they might have had a shot.
Presenting themselves as the identity politics, anti-white male party isn't going to be a winning strategy imo. Never mind the jelleyhead they picked, their absurd wokeness will be their undoing.
