Great interview.
-
Nice. They talk about the 1980 Mr. O and the corruption there aswell.
-
It’s refreshing to know that even during these times of Antifa terrorism, a global pandemic, Maxwell exposing the biggest names in the world of sex crimes, and the impending danger leading up to the presidential election... that some folks are still calm enough to discuss important things such as the 1980 Mr Olympia.

For sure. Finally something interesting other than the worldly mundane stuff!
They also talk about Bruce Lee's training and how Mike had to eat scraps from hotels ( :( ) because of him being blacklisted from bodybuilding, among other interesting things about MM.
part 2:
-
Mentzer's failures and drug addiction was caused by him... no one else. Watch the videos of 1980 Mr O... his chest was flat as a pancake. Like him or hate him, Arnold was the best man on stage that day. So many cry babies out there, including Boyer and Zane.

Arnold was given the title. watch this Roger walker interview. I believe him.

Yes for sure drug addiction did him no good.
But Arnold shouldn't have won 1980. He had no legs. Sure good chest, which MM lacked somewhat, but no legs. How can you win missing half your body? Maybe he should have competed in 1980 wheelchair classic instead.

Roger Walker is correct he was great up until 74 then 75 not so good. should have left it there but no he came back after 5 years saying he got in shape in a short time insulting people. 81 was worse as we all know.

Years ago I was told that Arnold only trained for 12 weeks for 80 Olympia
True?

Even to this day, Mentzer stands as the epitome of a manly bodybuilder👍

True?
Yes I think so. Watch "Total Rebuild". It documents some of his comeback in 80.

If Mentzer came in looking like that he might have won. He over dieted badly for the '80 Olympia trying to match Zane's conditioning from the year before.

Great legs, good arms, but his chest is lagging, or at least it's nowhere near as massive as Arnold's chest. Just keeping it real

Fixed...
Even to this day, Mentzer stands as the epitome of a manly mentally ill bodybuilder👍

He lost his mind using meth. He wrecked his life and health with drugs. At one point he was the highest paid bodybuilder of at the time. In the late 70's he was making 200K a year. In today's money it might be a million or more a year. The meth made him make nutty decisions like buy outdated movie making equipment when he didn't even know how to use the stuff. He thought the would make videos and make a mint. Instead he made some con man rich by buying the junk. His long time girlfriend even dumped him and married an amatuer bodybuilder named Clint Beyerle who had his act together with a career.
Back in the day when I was young he was my favorite bodybuilder. I collected everything he wrote. I still might have the most complete collection of his writings of any collector. I could tell you how he trained almost every year in his prime. From doing his whole body routines to his four day a week split and finally his rotation method of three days a week that he took from Mr. Florida Frank Calta.

Arnold had a freaky chest no doubt but didn’t have tris like these:
