Tom Stoltman beat Shaw last year so don't talk shite wee man.

Hasn't Brian Shaw been hovering around the top five in the past couple of years? No disrespect to the man, but he's 38 now - not old by any means, but probably not at an age where he is still getting stronger. I assume he peaked, but that with the 10-year younger Mateusz, I don't see Shaw winning again.
That might depend on how Mateusz recovers from his injury though.

I think strength athletes are only really limited by injuries and overall health. At 38 shaw could still improve in theory. Thing is he could already be maxed out genetically but who knows. Maybe he just likes doing it.

Top 3 from last year are all out this year. (Mateusz just backed out, Tricep re-injury).
Thor - Retired
Martins - Car accident
Mateusz - Tricep Re-Injury

I wonder if these guys have a plan B in life? Strongman careers are very short and can end very abruptly. When it does, bye bye endorsements. Their insurance premiums must be high due to the risks they take.

A few are well-off. Shaw (Just bought 2 houses) Thor (Very well off) but most are just hobbyists who have jobs. Eddie just bought a huge house, is into acting now. (I guess).
I dont think most are as brain-dead, lazy and delusional as bodybuilders. Most work for a living.

This is a toss up. Shaw isn't out of it even though he was off last time. He has the home field advantage, etc.... Also, who knows what the whole Covid situation did to their training, etc.....

Shaw hasn't looked good in the last couple, looks to be in great shape and has been training all along in his great gym (and outside).
He has a great shot for a 5th,especially w/ these 3 out now.
