I am half way set up for Halloween. Here is my update on my progress and the new additions I added for this year so far.

Home displays are allowed in Los Angeles and Trick or Treating is "Allowed but not Recommended" so we should be good. But I always have my video camera with me when I am outside by the display just in case the PoPo pull up and want to shut me down

I will have the Full Setup on October 3. I plan to have it up and running All 5 Saturdays including Halloween in October. I might even have it up on Election Day for shits and giggles.

I am a Production Grip for my job so we do deal with lighting a lot.

I can tell. If most people bought and setup the exact same props on their property they'd end up confounded as to why their exhibit doesn't look like yours at night.

I have to bring in ALL Animatronics so they dont get ruined from the weather or stolen. They cost anywhere from $200-$400 each. The animatronics are running on 4 D batteries that I have to switch out after 2 nights of running them. I have over 30 animatronics so do the math. Plus it takes me about an hour or so to set everything up and I do it by myself. Then it takes about 45 mins to bring everything back down and put away. Did I mention that I have a life and job to do too?

There is no access to my front door. My yard is blocked off from the public. It is just a display that people see from the sidewalks and streets. No candy will be given out this year due to covid. So in other words, things will work out just fine. Thank you for your concern.

I think that's pretty cool. There is a big house in the back of my subdivision that goes all out for Halloween and Christmas. Nice house on a big lot and he spends a lot of money each year to make it good for the kids.
