Post by: Body-Buildah on October 07, 2020, 11:59:09 AM
Johnny Nash, Singer & Writer of ‘I Can See Clearly Now,’ Dies at 80

Hopefully he lived a good/rich life w/out managers robbing him, he had a good career:

He charted 11 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including a pair of top 10s: “Hold Me Tight” in 1968 and the No. 1 “I Can See Clearly Now” in 1972.

"It's gonna be a bright... bright... bright... sunshiny day!"

Maybe in 1972, but not in 2020/21

Oh that one.

I thought this was about the north London gangster Johnny Nash

I was born in Newfoundland.  My grandfather was born there while it was still a colony of England, and in my family tree on my dad's side, there are only Englishmen and Englishwomen as far as the eye can see - Mugford's, Small's, Dunford's, Avey's...the list goes on and on.

Lately, I think England is more batshit than Canada.  If that's even possible.  I hate to say that I'm almost ashamed to be English.

But after reading your post, I was reminded that - for a long time throughout history - the English were a rough and tumble people.  At one point, the controllers of a quarter of the entire globe.

English gangster Johnny Nash isn't still alive, is he?  If so, he must be pushing 90...

Also, for a second, I thought this thread was about Johnny Cash, and I was like "WTF?"  ;D  He was great in "Columbo":

I was also reminded of Canadian musician Nash the Slash [Jeff Plewman], who died in 2014:
