I reckon Reggie and Ron would have done him if they squared up in a boozer.

Especially on their east London patch. They ruled that manor with an iron fist

Sad to see. Wish he took one more fight to make it an even 30. But unlike some, most, champs that say they are retired only to come back, this is it for Khabib. He comes from a different old school culture and their word means something. He gave his word to his mom and he will honor it.

No flash or bullshit; just brutal, single-minded focused, warrior who overcame all comers.

Respect to him for living on his terms, leaving a lot of money behind isn't easy in the modenrn world, no doubt his faith and his commitment to it allows him to rise above materialism, unlike many of us myself included, one things for sure no one was going to beat him, he made Gaethje look like a beginner. He looked like he could have walked through anyone today.

Khabib's going off to retire in a village like Thanos.

Floyd needs to find another trick to fund his manchild lifestyle

He can still make plenty of money as a trainer.

What a performance it was. He showed us how great he is,I think it was his best fight ever. Gaethje panicked when he saw that he ate every leg kick and was still pressuring him and out striking him with the jab. Khabib is one of a kind, a great role model and a man of honour.
He definitely needs rest and stay with his family for now, it's not easy when you lose someone who's this close. I hope he can make up his mind and fight one more time against GSP. A fight against Tony or Conor will be too easy for him...

Daz, I was boozing in Bow awhile back and ended up in some German bar opposite the pub where roggie and rennie shot jack the hat. Whilst sat outside, a group of tourists gathered in front of the closed pub and they were being led by some fat bald bloke who looked like a less fat Dave Courtney.

My questions to you are:

A) who is the fat bald bloke, is he a known face?

B) have you ever taken this tour?

Cheers

Ken

He will stay around for sure. Alot of his friends and family member are competing. Probably will train them and stay in the picture. I think even if khabib is gone for good, his friend Islam Makachev will take the lightweight division title in a few years.

Men of honour and old school values like khabib are rare now (outside of getbig)

He's only about 32 years old as well.

Slow down with all that....GSP beat Bisping and fought like 4x in the last 10 years. He's not even thinking about getting in the octagon with Khabib.

I watched a youtube video of Helwani interviewing gsp about khabib performance last night. He says that he will consider it but won't get to 155pounds and the best will be to find a weight in between. Praised Khabib alot in the video.

I was shocked at how he just dominated Gaethje. Gaethje is one tough mofo but Khabid just kept chasing him down putting on constant pressure controlling the entire fight. Jason was just avoiding, reacting, and defending the constant onslaught.

No way. Well, there is one way. His mother has to come out in public and declare that she wants Khabib to fight again. He gave his word to his mother and he is going to keep it. Only his mother can absolve him from his promise and allow him to come back and still be true to his word and honor.

Jason didn't panic. Guys at that level and his type of toughness don't "panic". He was just outclassed. Khabib is just on a different level.

I agree with the previous poster that I would like to see him give Connor another beating. The GSP fight will be good entertainment and be a big draw but Kahbib would have to move up a weight. I don't why he thinks GSP should come down to 155 lb when Khabib's walk around weight is about 170 anyway and he has trouble getting down to 155 lb and a very good argument was made that he really didn't make weight on his first try.

Fuck this filthy Muzzie. And fuck his shitty prophet and sky wizard, too.

Why don't you judge someone by how they live their life and how they conduct themselves. Except for that unfortunate incident after the Connor fight where Khabib was pushed beyond the line, he has always conducted himself with class, honor, and humility. I'd much rather have a decent Muslim than a degenerate Christian. It's not what you believe or say you believe but what you actually do that matters. Judge a man by his actions and not by what you think is in his head. You are not a mind reader.

If there's a fight, they should find a middle ground at 165 or something. GSP is a way more muscular and heavy than khabib. If Khabib go up to 170 then you can expect GSP coming at 190 on the fight day and that's a big difference.

Why are there so many fights being held at Fight Island?  Is this the UFC's way to skirt costly American regulations during Covid-19 times, where profits are lower than usual because they don't have a Live Gate to add to the pay-per-view sales?

That's true...but who invested the money to put it there?  Was it the UFC itself, or was it the government of the United Arab Emirates?  Or a combination of both?  And could it still be a way to skirt some of the high costs of regulation and other costs associated with running fights?  I'm assuming they wouldn't be bogged down in union costs in the UAE, and now with Covid-19 preventing the UFC from earning the million to millions from a live gate, I'm assuming that it makes running contests less expensive, and able to absorb those losses.

I'm just wondering...just having two UFC's in a row there seemed a bit strange to me.  I'm sure most would notice 10 UFC's in a row being ran there...I noticed with only two, in part due to the extent that sports revenues have been on the decline in the USA without live audiences being present, so I just wondered about that.

Dana doesn't do anything that will lose money. I'm sure he cut some kind of deal that was win/win for all involved. They do have too many fights. It's just so commonplace now that it's lost a lot of its luster. I don't even know most of the fighter's name anymore. They just come and go. I only follow the big names.
