Should people be forced only to be able to get their john deer tractor repaired at a john deer dealer.
As a devils advocate i bet they sell maybe 2 or3 john deer mowers every week at a dealer
-
No, they should be able to repair it themselves if they want.
It's not just lawnmowers, it's farmers who want repair their farm equipment.

But its like that with all vehicles , nothing has repair manuals. The chilton and haynes manuals offer some insight though but still shitty

It applies to cars as well...
Also peripherally, software packages too...For instance Adobe audio editing software...You have to pay a monthly fee to use any current Adobe software...or it won't work.
Can you say "Chromebook?"
It is the old business model of the Bell System...you pay a monthly fee...and you do not own any of the equipment (phones, wire, connectors)...and you are not allowed to make any changes to the installation.

exactly
We need a bastardized way of making vehicles ' low tech' like those 80's cars n trucks that compete with new cars. Ovens are another thing, they absolutley dont need a mother board for a dam appliance or any vehicle
