I would penalize him just for shitty tats alone.

Yeah, why would a competitive bodybuilder cover their body with tats?
-
why all the tats?

I heard in the 1980's, Ron Teufel had a skull and crossbones tattoo on one of his shoulders burned off because of an anti-tattoo policy in the AAU.
Chris Bumstead has a lot of tattoos too, and they look awful [IMO]. Why build up such a great physique, only to cover them in tattoos like that? I feel it really detracts from a physical, almost to the point of ruining it. Maybe if it was just the single tattoo that Ron Teufel allegedly had burned off it would look fine, but when you look like a 5% sponsored athlete on stage, I think it looks pretty bad.

Looks decent, the tats really distract you from seeing things.
His chest is a bit weak. It's a shame he hasn't mastered the DB incline press at 27.6 degrees while supinating the wrist at the end for a tight "squeeze". He'd have a chest like Franco if he tried those for a few months. :D

Am I alone in noticing the tats?

The kid looks good but obviously got into bodybuilding AFTER he got the tats. It’s the millennial way. If this kid gets on any pro stage he’ll regret it

I doubt it. He probably started bodybuilding before he could legally get tats.

Tattoos are horrible if you're making stage bodybuilding at part of your life. A lot of these new guys look like they got sprayed with mud, add the pro tan, and it's a mess.

The pro tan looks terrible on these guys. When did bodybuilders stop getting natural tans?

yes the aau and then npc and ifbb all made a rule that tattoos would have points taken away. (and this was way back before fucktards thought they looked cool or tough) and they also made a rule to penalize breast implants ( females ) . but i have never heard of anyone loosing points due to these rules ( if they even still exist) the reason they dont get tans naturally is because they are lazy. also no one poses either. they walk out on stage all bloated and throw a few shots with tongue hanging out or looking like they are gonna shit themselves and trying to hold it in. there is no professionalism . back in the day bodybuilders worked on their real tan got as good as they could then a few coats of their favorite dye and they were looking good. and they tanned their face too. now days these fucktards have white faces and sloppy ugly fake tans and they look like complete shit. hell even the great serge nubret ( black bodybuilder) would lay in the sun too. robby robinson used to, leon brown and several other black bodybuilders did too. and back then they practiced posing for hours. bodybuilding as it should be is gone. once money ( and more fags) got involved it just turned into a real freak show. just when real bodybuilders worked hard to get it accepted and not be looked at as a bunch of fags on drugs etc then it turned exactly into that. smh..

It's not uncommon for bodybuilders to get tattoos to cover up track marks, scar tissue from repeated site injections, muscle tears and so on. Didn't watch the video of this guy, just speaking generally - a lot of times it's to distract from something else. For example a tattoo around the upper arm to distract from a blown vein or scarring on the tricep.

Can’t recall hardly anyone up until recently (within the in last 10-15 years) covering themselves in tats to cover anything if they were a serious bodybuilder
