Funny how they eat a shit ton of sugar to "manipulate" their insulin levels before working out.

Big dudes, all the way big dudes.

In strongman, we see top pressers or top pullers who dominate the field...but I can't think of a time when anyone has dominated a movement event quite like Tom Stoltman has for stones.

Tom will also likely prevent J-F Caron from ever winning WSM.  J-F is 38 now...and while he's still in top form, no one beats Father Time.  Good for Tom.  Hopefully he stays healthy and as injury-free as possible.

Tom has the Stone record (600+ lb. stone) which is insane. Luke is trying for Big Z's log-lift record.
(Though he failed at it this year already,he will keep on trying). (He or Iron Biby may get it next).

I can see Tom winning WSM, he hasn't been at it long, he's 6' 8" or so, close to 350 lbs, he smokes all in the stones and is improving all the time in every other event.
(He did take 2nd place this year). He's only like 26 years old or so.

6'8" and 350-lb is huge.  To think that Brian Shaw was 450-lb at the same height at one of the Arnold's [2016, IIRC].  I wonder to what extent body weight makes a difference in strongman.  It obviously helps with static events, but at a bit of a cost for mobility events.  At 450-lb, I can't help but worry about Brian Shaw, and competitor health in general, as others push their body weight up and up.  As huge as 350-lb is, the 6'8" frame makes a difference.  And if Stoltman can come 2nd in today's level of competition, I don't think adding an extra 100-lb is necessary.  Being so young, I think the odds of him winning the WSM title at some point are very high, providing he doesn't get hurt.

Oleksii Novikov is almost a manlet by WSM standards - 6'1" and 285-lb, I think.

Some smaller guys have won in the past. Jouko Ahola comes to mind (2x winner) right around the same size as Novikov.
But normally yes, it does favor the 'gorilla sized' gents.

Just noticed Tom was 180 kg at WSM (so 6' 8", 400 lbs). Sort of a big feller.
Sitting at 173 kg now. (380 lbs). Lots of Haggis and Scottish Potatoes.
