The one you enjoy doing the most.
I have a treadmill and an upright bike for the cold months. Hilly, rural outside walking during warm months.
Example - Some say that elliptical thing is best. I hate that thing and wouldn't use it, so not best for me.
Sort of like "whats the best lifting routine", the one you enjoy the most, is the one you wil stick to, and put 100% into.
If you like old-fashioned Arnold splits (nowadays twinks call them "bro-splits') you will get most out of those, rather than say "DoggCrapp" if you hate doing it,and do it half-heartedly.

Okay. So what’s the best treadmill for home use under $5K?

Landice or Star-Trac are two of the better brands in that range. People don't like the price, but I haven't heard much of anyone disappointed in the quality or servicing.

I think elite also has one of these on sale as well.

We have a little gym in my building. Mainly Cybex equipment including the treadmill. It’s pretty good. A lot of options under 5K.

Landice and True are two great treadmills. A cheap treadmill will feel like crap to run on. I own a True and a Sole treadmill. The Sole is functional but it has too much bounce on the running surface.

x5 or whatever for a treadmill. However I'm not an advocate of running in general. Stick to incline walking for cardio and the odd session of HIIT

jump rope? kettlebell?

It'll get your heart rate up. Plus she won't complain, talk back, pout, nag, steal out of your wallet or go through your phone.

Treadmills will end up being an expensive clothes rack. If you don't live in a condo and have neighbors under you, get some light kettlebells and look up cardio circuits on youtube. And don't be like most and think "oh... but it will interfere with my training and stagnate my growth." It won't because you are not going to be using very heavy kettles. It will work great for improving flexibility as well.

This is a good post.
I would say, for the most bang for the buck, an 80lb sandbag with two 40lb bladders gives the most flexibility in terms of conditioning options.
So many things - throws, cleans, hinges, swings, rucking, plyo jumps, etc......
If I was starting from scratch I'd go the sandbag or Goruck rucker, then add from there. They are so much more versatile and effective than one stagnant machine.
On topic, Sole treadmills seem to be pretty solid picks and are a lot less than 5k.
For 5k, you could put together an insane home gym.

Have any of you ever used a Peloton bike? Looks like a relative is going to give me his barely used one. (I'm not interested in the live classes. Would just be an upgrade from my basic old stationary bike that i've been using for 20+ years.)

Wife has one.
It is a very solid, well built piece of equipment.
Doing a class, whether live or not, is helpful in terms of keeping it interesting.
Personally, I tried it once, but prefer other things.

under $5K?
Thanks in advance.
A good quality treadmill with a 0- 15% incline

Wrong.

sex. with someone other than just yourself

Nowhere near $5k, but my favourite bit of kit is the Schwinn air-dyne
I just prefer it over a standard stationary bike due to the pushing/pulling motion of the moving handlebars, and of course the fan helps to keep cool
Mine's pretty old now, so this year might spring for a newer one
