So, I hear, from a respected source, that Phil actually had cosmetic surgery on the gut. i'm talking not just the skin or the penoris thing, but actually removal of tissue, muscle, etc to create a more streamlined look. Not saying it's "wrong" but it may mark an interesting new trend of guys with the big guts. Lets see how it looks on stage. Again, not confirmed as true, but its an interesting rumor and may explain also the long absence.

Craig Titus had surgery for his chest around 2004, posted it here, and I think Goatboy called him out for it, saying such surgeries should be considered cheating. Craig than asked to have the post removed.
I guess Craig didn't want the judges to have negative views about him.
-
He had some kinda mesh put in a few years ago, but it popped when he got to low levels of body fat (2018?)
He went for a similar surgery again, but this time he took an extended period of time off to let it heal.
This all goes back to his childhood when his parents chose to have surgery done on his stomach for some kind issue he had (he basically blamed his parents for his gut)
It's debatable if this falls under cosmetic surgery or corrective surgery. I don't see this particular surgery helping anyone else.
-
Yeah, well its one thing having surgery to add things in, eg fake calfs, bicep implants, etc. Fake tits on the ladies in pretty much standard. As is the use of injectable substances to full out the muscle. The difference of the allegation against Phil is that he has had tissue removed to created a slimmer and more aesthetic waistline. Arguably no different to a lady who has her nose narrowed for a sharper facial look. Will be interesting to see if someone interviews him as asks directly on this point (and how he reacts in his response).

What a “sport” of fairy boys.
Surgery to “streamline” your midsection.
Oh brother. ::)

He had tissue removed as a kid, but then as an adult and as his gut grew bigger it burst through the tissue that was holding it in. That's why he had a mesh put in, to hold it back. Having more tissue removed makes no sense as it's the lack of tissue that was causing the issue.
Are you saying he had an organ or part of his colon removed or something? Surgery to streamline his obliques?
-
Not sure if its any organ that was removed. But what I heard was fat and actual muscle tissue "carved away". I guess there might be some type of internal coreset type mesh there also, but what I thought was interesting was the actual removal of substantial amounts of tissue. I'm curious to see how it looks.

If his stomach issues are resolved, it's game over and a three way tie for most Mr. Olympia wins. Would be awesome to see him get 9 next year. Let the meltdowns begin.

Visceral fat removal surgery - I posted about this before (I think)
Originally developed for morbidly obese people to reduce insulin resistance (I think)
It was only a matter of time before a 'light touch' version came along for aesthetic reasons (smh)

reminds me of actresses having ribs removed to get a smaller waist

You have a source for that or is it just you imagining things?
He did have a pretty severe hernia of his abdominal wall. Like pregnant women gets. Doubt that is fixable. And what ever pushed it out and herniated it to begin with will do the same again. Especially for someone lifting heavy.

Phil wont have to worry about this being an issue.
-
Unrestricted drug use and synthol are totally legit, so we can't allow surgery. ::)
Before you know it the females will compete in bikini and figure with boob jobs.
Oh, the humanity

It's probably something normal folks call "hernia surgery".

How long before a bodybuilder competes with all implanted muscles?

Doesn't The 2020 Olympia start today in Orlando, Florida?

Exactly, I had the same thing as a kid on my lower left groin area. You can see it popping out when there is any pressure put on my abdominal area.

And it isn't about blipcoins. I'm shocked.

Whats weirder, people who do it or people who care abut it ???

I see Craig's point. The last thing he wants to be known for is someone who is dishonest.

LOL - bit of both ;D
The surgery seems real enough (I think), but I invented the fact that Mr Heath had undergone the procedure - you'd need to find a pretty laissez-faire surgeon to do something that drastic for purely cosmetic reasons... or go to Brazil of course ;)
Surgical Removal of Visceral Fat Tissue (Omentectomy) Associated to Bariatric Surgery: Effects on Insulin Sensitivity
The intraabdominal fat is associated with insulin resistance, a condition that is in the basis of diabetes, metabolic syndrome and some cardiovascular diseases. It is not clear whether it is the origin of it or a surrogate marker only. We intend to compare the effects of bariatric surgery with versus without omentectomy in morbidly obese people intended to go through bariatric surgery, accessing insulin sensitivity by metabolic tests.
If the visceral fat is causative of insulin resistance, its surgical removal (omentectomy) might lead to improvement of insulin action, as seen in animal studies and in one study with morbidly obese human volunteers.

He can win 10 titles he'll never be better than Ronnie
-
Phil could definitely hold his own with Ronnie on many poses, but I think that Ronnie’s size would stand out, and he’d win that call-out.

QFT.

The only thing that matters is what you look like onstage the day of. That's it.
-
Just watching the show now - whatever he was supposed to have had done didn't work...
-
FUCK PHIL HEATH AND HIS TINY LITTLE GUT !! LOL ;D
-
Stomach looks like utter shit. Right now, I'd say they have him in 2nd and that is bullshit. Let alone him possibly winning.
-

He should see if he can at least get a refund.

The Olympia is more corrupt than the Presidential election.
-
At least for today, I'd say Shawn Clarida might be the best bodybuilder in the world. I'm sure he'd look too small next to Ramy but when it's just him, he's kind of flawless.

Never mind that he was sweating profusely again, couldn't complete ab crunch poses and it got worse as it went on. He almost looked flustered at times.
-
Is that how a Mr. Olympia champ is supposed to look like? :-X

It looks like they are going to give it to him. They will say Ramy isn't conditioned enough and will ignore Phil's totally shitty physique.

Hes starting to look like Branch

What ever the hernia surgeon did obviously didn't work. Mesh/stitches/whatever probably broke putting too much strain on it.

In the old days bodybuilders just sucked their stomach in
