Just got the call. Haven't talked about it but she got it 2 weeks ago and was moved to hospice care a few days ago so it was a matter of time.
-
Sorry to hear that, I hope you are ok
-
My condolences, Vince.
-
I am so sorry Vince.
-
I'm sorry for your loss!
-
Sorry, man. Best to you and yours.
-
Condolences bro.
My great aunt died with it as well, a few days ago. 85 years old.
-
Sorry for your loss brother I hope you and your family are doing ok , my mother caught it she’s had a history of respiratory issues like asthma she was in the hospital for a few days she pulled through but it was tough on her even though I’ve been whatever with it I respect it because people have died from it I’ll keep you and your family in prayers
-
Hope all is well brother. She is in heaven, I will have your family in my prayers Vince.
-
That's awful, Vince. My condolences. Based on your age, I would guess she wasn't very old. You haven't aged in about 13-14 years. As they say - Black don't crack. I hope she wasn't in pain in her final days. I've heard that COVID is a pretty bad way to go...but with so many lies in the news, I have no idea what is true and what is not. I would also guess the quality of hospice care in the USA is much better than in Canada, so hopefully she received the best quality of care possible, making her final days as comfortable and pain-free as possible.
RIP Aunt Goodrum.

Matt, the vast majority of my family lives to be 90+ and she was in very good health at 76. COV-19 is no joke regardless as to what race you are
-
Vince sorry for your loss. Odd you’d share it here where people have been less than compassionate to you. Be careful.
-
That sucks Vince, sorry to hear. Death comes for us all the time we have is precious.

Since I posted it on my FB, it would have been mentioned here soon enough. Best to get it out of the way. Besides that Getbig is pretty much my second family

You are right that Covid-19 is no joke. And that's why I was a little surprised to you you report about your aunt, because your genetic proclivity towards youth and outward physical health [although just because someone looks young or is aging slowly on the outside does not necessarily mean it's a perfect correlation with internal biological health]. I'm not surprised in the least to hear that your family has an ultra high lifespan average. And even though I have said in the past that Covid-19 is mainly targeting the very elderly who had very few years left [in Canada, 87% of all cases are over the age of 80], the fact that your aunt was 76 and in good health leads me to believe that she may well have been an example of someone who would have made it to 90 if not for COVID.
But what can you do? In my grandmother's case, she is basically a prisoner in her own home at 88. But speaking of aunts, my aunt lives with her, as well as my cousin. So my grandmother has her daughter and her granddaughter, which is better than nothing, I guess. I definitely don't want to downplay COVID to my grandma only to find out that she got it as a result of not taking it seriously.
So by all means - continue to raise awareness. While I'm not personally worried about COVID, and do think most people are worried out of proportion to the actual threat, you are still right that COVID is no joke.
Regarding what you said about race...I think I may have read something about Blacks having an advantage with COVID. Whatever the study...it was specifically about Blacks and COVID, and there were some disparities found [presumably this is true of every race - even if the differences are subtle].
It's just a shame to hear about an otherwise healthy woman dying of it. If she was healthy at 76, she may have well felt like she was 50, only to have COVID zap out whatever remaining life she had left, which may have been decades.
Hoping you're coping ok with it all, Vince. From my family to yours.

Sorry for the loss sir
Would you care to divulge her weight ?
Since your weaponizing her death
If this place is your second family
I fear for your first

We wouldn't have it any other way. And you wouldn't want it any other way, either.

Sorry to hear Vince. Rest in peace!

Sorry for your loss Vince, a respected legend in these parts. I hope you have many good memories with your aunt. I experienced it in March with a very close relative. 93 years old. The flu like symptoms came on, appetite gone, oxygen levels dropped, dead in a week and a half. This thing is definately real.
-
Sorry for your loss. Was she saved?
-
rip

I know how you feel...RIP..
I just had a friend of mine die from covid pneumonia a few weeks ago. But he lived in a very small town in California. I mean he had no contact with anyone.
It's starting to make me think that the government or someone is spreading the virus on purpose..
maybe i should make a post about this...
-
sorry to hear this, may she RIP

My condolences Vince.

My God hold her in the palm of his hand till you meet again.

Sorry for your loss Vince.

Vince, so sorry to hear that! Hope you are OK.

if u r able to feel pain due to the loss of another, then u r not a lost cause, and may still have a shot at salvation.

It's sad that your aunt passed. Covid is real and I think some people are finally beginning to understand that. May peace be with you.

Covid is real. So is pneumonia, heart disease, copd and kidney disease. The inflammation from covid often leads to death from the previous mentioned illnesses. The elderly and those with preexisting conditions are so vulnerable. My daughter in the health field is being over run at work in a covid hot spot. It's really taking a toll on her.

They claim my uncle died of covid too, but he already had failing kidneys, he was an alcoholic, a smoker and his nutrition was always very poor.
The covid tests are designed to give false positives. That way the hospital can get the extra government covid "treatment" subsidies that way.
People are being had. Most hospital staffs are totally ignorant.

Condolences Vince.

Vince did you tell her clean up her diet and stop eating meat?
The flu is brutal enough I almost felt like it was gonna kill me when I had it. To this day there is no test for cd19
-
Just an update: I was going to the funeral visitation but apparantly she wrote in her will to only have her immediate children visit and attend the funeral and forbid everyone else from going because she didnt want a bunch of people crying and moaning about her all day...(No Joke!!, )
I really should have seen it coming as my family line has ice water running through our reins
-
Or pancake syrup
-
My Heartfelt condolences
-
So sorry that your aunt passed. Just so you know, many families are currently electing to forgo tradition and instead are either planning on a future memorial or forgoing all tradition because of the pandemic. None of this means you cannot honor her life and accept her loss in your own way.
-
How old was aunt Jemima Goodrum?
Anything under 50 to 60 is a tragedy but beyond that the loss of life should be mourned, but not made a huge fuss of. Your aunt seems to have got that.

Very suspicious. I think the immediate kids are keeping people away from that will. Probably there's some money there that they want to control. Also, since it's been a while for things to calm down, has anyone thought about what will happen to her cell phone contract? Was she grandfathered in at a great rate? Don't want to give that up.

The reason why I was able to diagnose this so quickly is because I saw the same thing in the 80s with aids. All you have to do is substitute Covid with HIV.
Sorry about your Aunt, Vince.

Medical insurance providers, Medicare and Medicaid regulate what hospitals are paid. The last time I was hospitalized the bill was around $20,000, insurance discounted $17,000 of it and paid less then $3,000. I paid 0.00.
Had I been uninsured, I would have been on the hook for the whole $20,000
Ever hear of a little thing called the hippocratic oath? That's why they keep people alive.
Line 3: I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures which are required, avoiding those twin traps of overtreatment and therapeutic nihilism.
Everyone should have an advance directive which dictates what measures you want taken to keep you alive if you are unable speak for yourself.

20,000 dollars? I never knew getting your stomach pumped for semen would cost so much. Inflation.
