The only real and legitimate Olympia Category is the Men's Open. Because of the misguided "everyone gets a trophy" mentality that permeates society today, the following categories were created for small men and females:
The 212 Olympia
The Men's Classic Physique Olympia
The Men's Physique Olympia
The Men's Fitness Olympia
The Women's Bikini Olympia
The Women's Figure Olympia
The Women's Fitness Olympia
The Transvestites on Roller Skates Olympia
And on and on....
There is ONLY ONE IFBB MR OLYMPIA that traces it's lineage back to Larry Scott. The rest of these divisions are utter nonsense.

Agreed! Mr Olympia for the men and bikini competition for the women. None of this board short nonsense or women bodybuilding....nobody cares about that crap.

If one wants bikinis one should fly down to Rio de Janeiro and sit on the beach for a week. There are sights to see there that put the "IFBB bikini division" to shame.

Hey Jackoff, I`m glad you joined the board just in time to save it...............ya big homo !!

All the different classes have increased the popularity of the sport. Not everyone wants to be Open freaks and even if they did they couldn't genetically. The main drawback is the sport is saturated with pro cards. Every amateur show gives out 30 pro cards. I live in a little shit town in CT and there's a couple actual IFBB pros in several of the gyms I go to. They look like your average gym rats. They must be male physique pros. Remember when the NPC USA gave ONE pro card to the overall winner and that was it?

They shouldn't call all of those categories Olympian though.

I consider Bumstead more worthy of being called Me. O than Ramy but I know what you're saying

Absolutely not. The two MOST IMPORTANT QUALITIES in bodybuilding today are SIZE AND CONDITIONING. Having a pencil-neck and lady's legs like Bumstead have NO PLACE on the OLYMPIA STAGE.

So in essence:
BODYBUILDING IS THE MUSCLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No way. Mr. Fitness maybe.

And some of those sights are in the new NPC "Wellness Division". So, I'm sure the IFBB will have a pro Wellness Division, before long.

I must say I'm enjoying jackoffs posts... He's hardcore, not a sissy man.
I can forgive his homosexual proclivities towards Ramys gluteus muscles....

It's not about the fans. Never has been.

The "fans"?? Why would it be "about the fans"?? Did they lift the weights? Did they do the diet? The fans pay for the privilege to watch mass monsters lock horns.

Shut your flappers. Every single one of you would look like a fat piece of untrained dog shit next to Bumstead. He’s the real Mr O.

I respect both athletes bodybuilders, but some people like living past 50, so I don't put this topic in the same category as "Everyone gets a trophy" - it's more like a weight class distinction.
By the logic of the OP, Georges St-Pierre falls into the "Everyone gets a trophy" category, because he is only a weight class champion, and not the overall champion.
Not everyone person who lifts weights, or lifts weights and juices, wants to push it to the absolute limit. It doesn't always end well:

WHO CARES ???

Great analogy to the weight classes in MMA

You have no idea what I look like. The real Mr. Olympia is Big Ramy.

A lot of IFBB pros are over 50. Dex just retired at 51; Dennis James is well over 50. Vince Taylor competed at the 2006 Mr. O at 50.
"The Jetman" Tony Pearson is over 60 and still looks great! In fact, I just learned that he won the AAU Masters Mr. Universe last month.
I guess there was plenty of social distancing at that show, since it was held in Vegas.;D ; whereas, the Olympia got moved to Orlando.
Nonetheless, the Jetman has competed and/or won shows in the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s, and now the 2020s.

I think a lot of bodybuilders, croaking before 50, are doing a lot more stuff than just anabolics. In far too many cases, it's narcotics or foreign substances being injected into their muscles.
-
Another bodybuilder who looked awesome well after age 50 was 5-time Mr. Universe, Serge Nubrej.
