In the 2018 Andre the Giant documentary, Hulk described himself that way - what he said exactly was that show wrestling was an industry of entertainers, not of tough guys.
Odd being 6'8" and 300-lb @10% body fat or whatever he was, benching press 400- or 500-lb for reps that he would think that.
If he meant not tough compared to the actual toughest combat fighters in the world, fine, but you'd think you would consider yourself at least somewhat tough if you had those stats and that training under your belt.

I think a better question would be Brock Lesnar vs. Mike Tyson.
I don't put Brock on the A-side there for any given reason...it's just how my thoughts went to the screen...but Lesnar proved himself as the UFC heavyweight champ.
I suspect he could beat Tyson, but he would have to be lightning fast to avoid getting hit.
Tyson, with limited takedown defense training, I think could have done very well in the UFC. There's never been a striker at that level in the UFC. It's interesting watching refined UFC strikers versus Tyson...it's not close [the striking]. Which makes sense [that specializing on one thing produces a tremendous outcome, compared to spreading yourself thin learning everything].

I can't fathom Hulk being under 6'5" or 6'6". He probably wore a chunky heel that made him look 6'7", which allowed him to get away with saying 6'8".
Today, being over 65, and after years of neck and back surgeries, I could see him being 6'3" or something. I think he himself said that.
So if he shrunk to 6'3", what would his max height have been? I'd think easily 6'5". I'd be shocked if he was less than 6'5.5", which you can call 6'6", which makes his 6'8" claim less exaggerated.
He seemed pretty lanky to me, especially for a guy so muscular. That said, I was also basing Hulk's height somewhat on the 7'5" lie height claim for Andre the Giant, who was probably for sure a legit seven feet, but unlikely any taller.
