He now owns nearly a quarter of a million acres of farmland across the USA.
What's the deal? Building large concentration camps for those who disagree with the power mad psychopath?

People need food even in a recession pretty smart imho. A wise man once told me real estate is like women get all you can when your young

I don't believe it's a conspiracy. I think he's just a mega-rich dude buying up stuff because he can. Farmers can't compete with his buying power and they will end up being his employees or they'll be out of work - after all, Bill doesn't need this land to be farmed.
With Gates doing this, Bezos putting retailers out of business, Musk automating jobs away and Apple doing everything else, we are heading for a Utopia where:
- There is no middle class
- The investment banking industry dies
- 90% of jobs are automated
- Gates, Bezos, Musk & Apple all go bankrupt because they no longer have anyone to sell to
And your average American who thinks that $15/hour is too much, doesn't want these enterprises broken up because hey - they might one day become worth $200 Billion themselves...
In the meantime, the best outcome for your average American will be being a serf because your chances of starting a business will be zero. You'll be a serf or unemployed. No middle class, no small business owners.

What do you think billionaires do with their money ? Most of the other top land owners in the US are billionaires/ families who have massive tracts of farmland seemingly mainly to diversify their portfolio.

The intent is to ultimately control the food supply.
Don’t look 5 years down the road, look further out and the elitist control becomes more obvious.

There's approx 400m acres of farmland in the US. Gates currently owns a quarter of a million acres and he's in his mid 60s. Even if he managed to grow his portfolio 50x in the next 30 years, that would still have a negligible effect on controlling the food supply. The corporations who buy from farmers have a much greater impact on the food supply.
Why would a guy who built his fortune running one the most dominant tech monopolies of all time switch to food manipulation to gain influence when technology is more central than ever to modern life?

Then why wonder if Darren is jewish?
Darren is a british streetfighter ALWAYS taking it to "The Streets" and knows everything about Nectar Rewards. Just ask him.
-
He's just really into corn.
-
Bill Gates is currently very involved with a project regarding nectar rewards.
-
So... by eating corn, I am enabling Bill Gates to gather enough Nectar Points to be able to build concentration camps..?
Damn you Jeff Bezos! >:(

The goal of these people is to control the means of production. They can't have their corporate-socialist revolution if they don't. The future is farmland owned by these people, delivery infrastructure automated and owned by these people, the entire economy owned by corporate monopolies embedded into government.

"It is unclear why Gates has invested so heavily in farmland, but could be connected to climate change"
Likely Gates will stop all cattle production in these lands and replace it with production of vegan products, do what he can to force everyone to go vegan. All those cow farts are gonna destroy the earth in 11 years, or so says AOC.

Yes, a long time plan.
All the rich have secured their property for their "economic footprint" and the commoners will be slowly pushed out of owning land, arms & being self sufficient.

probably pushing the vegan agenda to turn all men into fags that bend over and don't question authorities

Surprised Matt hasn't picked up on this clear linkage
Matt - what's your position on the vegan agenda angle dude?

Look at the distribution of the land he purchased:

I believe he is trying to control 2 specific things, those being America's FOOD & WATER supply. To what end? I don't know. What I do remember reading is that Bill Gates owns 500,000 shares worth 23 million US dollars (or more) of Monsanto stock. If this is still true, I wonder what great idea he might have in mind in terms of our food supply.
All this strange activity brought to you by the same guy that has championed COVID vaccines more than anyone else during the last year.
He doesn't have a college degree. He isn't a doctor, scientist, lawyer, politician or even a farmer. He's simply Bill Gates, playboy philanthropist. I wonder if he dresses up at night in order to fight crime.

Land almost always goes up in value so I think it's probably just a convenient place for him to stash money if you don't have to pay taxes on it.
Do you get taxed for owning land like this if there's no property on it?

If you own the land and there is no property or any farm-related use to it, you still pay property taxes at the highest rate possible per the IRS. Because you aren't generating income on it, you don't pay income taxes on the federal, state or city level.
Now, if you own the land and it has farm-related equipment and farm-use to it, you do pay taxes, but you usually pay much less and there are many incentives to owning farmland.
While income from normal farm business is taxed at the Federal level, it's much lower than standard federal taxes given that your land is assumed to be used for the betterment of society. Also, many states offer tax benefits for farmland owners, particularly in the form exemptions from sales, use or property taxes. Additionally, property taxes paid on farmland are tax deductible. You can also write off items purchased for use on the farm.
So, Bill Gates won't be hurting due to excessively high taxes on the land, as he'll likely keep most of it under the guise of farm-land. Owning land is a wonderful hedge against inflation and a bad economy.
Like that old saying, when in doubt about what to invest in, buy land, because God isn't creating any more of it, but he's sure creating more humans in need of land to live on.

You might be right, I can imagine Bill Gates has numerous loopholes around avoiding the taxes.

While people are freezing in Texas...Bill Gates says in promoting his new book "How To Avoid A Climate Disaster" :
Everybody eats fake meat, microbes and fungi(the poor that is) because livestock accounts for 4% of greenhouse gases.
Carbon neutral world, all electric by way of wind, solar and more nuclear(not possible unless everybody either disappears or has a third world living standard).
Change steel and cement industries - says account for 16% of all carbon dioxide emissions, to inject up to 30% of captured C02 into concrete, and create a different type of steel.
A reminder of who actually is doing all this polluting, but is not on the Gates world saving radar:

Could the land be for carbon sequestration?
That will be the new climate change cash grab to support the Green New Deal.
-
Gates most likely leases the land to farmers who grow crops.
-
Gates is just a piece of shit. I hope he leaves this world soon. He thinks or seems to think he has all the answers and is our saviour. He also seems to think he is a medical expert but is not even a Doctor.

Property taxes are not federal taxes. They are local government and school taxes.
You must mean capital gains taxes upon sale of the land?

I don't mean capital gains. The typo is when I wrote that property taxes are paid at the highest rate as per the IRS. It should read that property taxes are set at the highest rate as per your local government.
Property taxes are not federal taxes, but instead are tax deductible.
