Title: Printing houses (3D primter construction)
Post by: LurkerNoMore on February 17, 2021, 09:16:25 AM
Ok, since the tiny home fad seems to be on a downswing with many unhappy (read : people who didn't do their due diligence ahead of time) customers, the next step is printing homes on a giant 3D printer.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-tech-3d-printed-house-idUSKBN2AG2CA?fbclid=IwAR3wd_xHjOcx4mCRCR9O62OeG-HpCX2LZMnhC4O2lgBJFzdqvHWhSAqpmn4

On paper it looks good, but I can imagine the wiring, plumbing and insulating of the interior to be a pain.

BBing related : Print out your own gym crap with it too.

Shipping container homes run into many of the same problems as tiny homes in terms of coding and zoning laws.

Shipping container homes run into many of the same problems as tiny homes in terms of coding and zoning laws.

Any incorporated areas will not typically allow them for obvious reasons.

Out in the country they are fine as long as the builder can get an occupancy permit for fire and life safety.

They have pretty much banned them here where i live. In fact, most residential areas have implemented housing square footage and material requirements to avoid them completely.

My cousin built a nice house using old containers. Spent a ton of money making it very custom. Sold the house for twice what he had in it to an artist. Wish i had pictures of it.
