Post by: affeman on July 10, 2021, 12:52:47 AM
There seem to be many young guys these days looking way better than Arnold at that age (even natty)

The word “natty” is a such a stupid term

I want to go into rage every time I hear that phrase

Arnie was no better than some of the folks he competed against. His thing was, doing whatever it took to succeed.
Nude posing for schmoes, whoring himself out, etc...

And he's still at it.

How many people since have you seen with his proportions though?

You can't really say without him being on today's dosages/compounds.

The hgh addition would have possibly sorted his relatively sloppy shoulders

YAWN!!

Yet we have another case of comparing a legend nowhere near his best with another guy at/near his peak. Plus, I don't think Arnold is even at contest shape there, notwithstanding that the standards for definition were different back in his day.

Roland Kickinger was supposed to be just like Arnold; MuscleMag had this Canadian guy (Bruce Patterson) who won some national show at 20 or 21; he was compared to Arnold.

In fact, he was hyped up so much that he got an IFBB pro card, even though the show he won (Canada Cup) was not an IFBB pro qualifier at the time.

To be "fair", the IFBB also gave a pro card to the guy who won that show the previous year (Ray Williams). But, he HARDLY got all the fanfare and publicity that Patterson did.

Incidentally and unless my memory fails me, Williams beat Patterson at every pro show in which the two of them competed, though neither were in the running for the winner's circle.

Arnold's potential was way beyond what supposed "natties" display today. He had the height and the structure to make something happen.

I do not doubt Arnold posed for rich fags, but I have never seen any evidence that he literally whored himself out.  Is there any source for that claim?

Also, with respect, I disagree that he was "no better than some of his contemporaries."  Who else remotely compared to him in the 1970s other than Sergio?  Not Lou, not Franco, not Mentzer, not even Robby.  He was light years ahead of everybody except Oliva until well after his heyday.

That turd looks like it is the product of a evening of  mindless  donkey diddling between a Downs' manlette and Dana Lynn Bailey.

And as much as I despise him now, Arnold has yet to be equaled, let alone surpassed.  If anyone could do that it would be his son Joseph.
