Title: NOT a impressive lift but...
Post by: mesmorph78 on April 22, 2006, 01:58:27 PM
I was reading an ol copy of flex a couple days ago...
where.. rich gaspari and... eddie robinson did tri extensions with the 200lb dumbell.. and they were makin a hoopla bout it..
..
well my gym got 180's on monday...
yesterday... i did 180 for 8 reps... and that was my foutrh set after pyramiding up to 150's the previous set and i was superstting tri extensions with heavy olynpic barbell curls.. so straiht after extensions.. i run over to the olympic bar and was doin heavy curls with the olympic bar.. was curling up to 185lbs on my final set.

I reckon i could do extensions with a 200lb for reps on a normal day easy...

That is good weight, if you are doing it correctly. You should be going all the way down, and stopping the upward movement short of locking out the elbows, and most importantly you should be squeezing the muscle as hard as you can at the top. If you are doing this then good job...that is a lot of weight. But I see so many guys going heavy on these when all in all they should lighten the weight because they are not able to take advantage of the lift and do it the way it was intended.

I always go all the way down... and contract ..hard on the top...

these hit the long head of my triceps...hard... even now they're sore

Haha, i have that issue of flex too. Those are some good lifts! i can get the 140 but i always do them last (work up to em) i get about 6 reps. but ya the 200 pounder doesn't seem that crazy.

200 pounders for reps is pretty damn strong.  Did you hit 405 on the bench already?
Title: Re: NOT a impressive lift but...

havent benched since i last tried... i did try 405.... but i got stuck just on lock out so the huy touched my bar.. so i dont count that as a rep... been pluggin it away at the dumbells..i'll get it soon...
i think 200 are ok.. but not as spectacular or out of the reach of gym lifters other than pros...
eddie robinson was sayin snot was hangin rom his nose when he did the 200lbs...

i tied the 200lb dumbell around the head of my penis, then willed myself to get a boner and sure nuff the dumbell rose right off the floor.

no offense Meso but i don't believe any of your lift claims, i believe by looking at your body that you do a 315 lb. bench for 1, db tri extensions with a 100 lb. db, barbell curl 120.

The guy is a strong dude, especially for his bodyweight.  Check out his training clips in the picture forum.  4 plates for weighted dips easy...

i'm just saying that he doesn't look big enough to do a 405 bench, a 200lb. db tri extension and 185lb. barbell curls, those are lifts you'd expect out of someone 250 pounds not 5'11" 195.

Eddie Robinson was twice as strong as you, mesmorph. Magazine articles are all fake.

go watch my videos of me lifting in... the picture section..
i am not a popular person here...
i dont need to lie about nothing... 315 for 1... ha i dont think so
i have a clip of me doing 315 for 7 or 8 reps on my cam stored from the last time i benched..
and i attempted 405 for 1 but i dont count it because my bar was touched...
if your still insistent i will post them... and on friday or over the weekend.. or within the next week...

you have to remember that overhead db extensions are one of the easiest exercises there is, it's so easy to recruit the shoulders in the movement, i've literally seen guys 150lbs. at 6 feet use 110's and 115's on that movement for full reps.

i'm talking about a for real 250 guy not some 250lb. scrub, you know 500lb. bench for a few reps, 750 lb. squats and deads for reps, 365 behind the necks that type of stuff, the studs not the scrubs and you have to remember that Eddie Robinson benched 615 officially in competition.

lol you are totally out of your mind!

First of all Meso knows that I give him respect for achieving a physique that is totally out of your reach. Second there is no way a skinny twerp like you can ever raise that much weight over your head.
