Last month I hired a landscaping company to do some work on my property. The work involved taking down a huge tree, trimming some trees, and moving some large garden accessories. In addition to the two Ford F-250s with big towing attachments for hauling away the downed tree they used a Bobcat to move the large accessories. The work took place over two days. At the end of day one, the boss asked me if he could leave the Bobcat in the back yard overnight. I agreed noting that I would not be responsible if anything went south (theft, damage, etc). They left the Bobcat. On day two they completed the remaining work but the member of their crew who operated the Bobcat did not show up. The boss said that particular worker would return the next day to retrieve the Bobcat. He never did. The Bobcat is still in my backyard. What’s going on here?
At this point I’m guessing the Bobcat operator was just a hired hand and not a permanent employee. This is fairly common in the landscaping business, but who owns this piece of equipment? If it were owned by the company I am fairly certain they would have retrieved it right away. Presumably they need it for other jobs. I doubt it’s rented because they never would have left it here and racked up rental fees if it were. Stolen? I notified that company that if they do not retrieve it by X date I will consider it forfeit and take appropriate action. No reply.
Anyone want to buy a Bobcat? ;D

Put an ad on craigslist “ bobcat $5000”. It will be out of your yard that day
-
How long has it been there for?

Mystery solved: the owner got back to me. Apparently there was a death in the family so they have had their mind on other things. Bobcat will supposedly be removed in the next day or two. Stay tuned.

Are you sure it isn't bhanks bobcat?
-
Bodybuilding related as it involves sweaty men and moving wood.

I never understood how shit like this happens, other than you either went with the cheapest option, the dude who could do it “tomorrow” or both. The reason they do shit work, is because they don’t have their shit together. They also aren’t using proper equipment. What kind of tree company doesn’t have a bucket truck, and a chip truck to carry the shit away? I can’t believe you decided to hire them after they showed up with a pick up truck and a little dump trailer. How much you get charged? Are they going to grind the stump?

Are they going to grind the stump?
You'll regret that one.

Happens all the time, either doesn't want to move it twice before his next job or has no place to put it right now.
