How does this happen? Without blaming Biden, I mean, they all knew they had to get out of there months prior. Other than past experience, have the taliban recently told us of killing our people? From what I understood, they were willing to let us peacefully leave. Why not just leave in an orderly fashion? They know that if they really fucked around and killed any of our people, the blow back would be bad and not worth it. Granted, I’m not there so I don’t know how I’d feel, but there are reporters there now from major news outlets and they’re not getting killed, right?

There are only two options: (1) the intelligence community and our military didn't see this coming and failed to provide good advice; or (2) the IC and military knew it would happen, informed our leader, and our leader didn't follow their advice.

We started a gradual, orderly withdrawal from Viet Name in 1973.
By 1975 when we completely left under Ford ,it was similar to the current Afghan debacle.
Face it folks, war is an ugly business. People being shot and blown up looks horrific.
