They know.  They know it was the wrong person and this is another attempt at obfuscation.  Blur the lines.  Pretend you don't know until the attention is no longer on this issue.

When Democrats do that, they know the media will help them and make it go away.  How many stories like this just disappear?

Remember when the news broke that Senator Feinstein was being driven around by a Chinese spy for 20 fucking years?  A blip on the radar and then gone.

Republican politicians flat-out could not survive shit like this.  The media would eat them alive.  It would be front page news until they resigned.
