California took another step toward its goal of ridding the state of all gas-powered engines thanks to a new bill signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom on Saturday.
The new law will ban the sale of all off-road, gas-powered engines, including generators, lawn equipment, pressure washers, chainsaws, weed trimmers, and even golf carts. Under the new law, these machines must be zero-emissions, meaning they will have to be either battery-powered or plug-in, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Yet, I bet Newsome and others in CA continue to have their yards mowed by those with gas engines. Any republican or libertarian who doesn’t move away from CA to a more red state deserves what happens to them.

The landscape companies will love this one.

Give it back to Mexico ;D
-
Other lefty states will now go this way...NY, NJ, etc.
So, follow this logic...you can't buy an emergency gas generator to use when the electricity goes out...you have to buy an electric/battery genertor but the electric is out so you can't charge it.

As many illegal Mexicans there are, it may as well be named Mexico Jr.

He probably does. The ban is on the sale of these items and it doesn't go into effect until 2024. My guess is that small engine gas powered equipment is going to be around for quite awhile unless the state bans the use of them and not just the sale of them.
Gardeners are not going to be happy about this unless electric powered equipment becomes more efficient....particularl y leaf blowers which don't produce nearly the CFM that gas leaf blowers do. Racking leaves facilitates a better cardio workout.

What a fucking disgrace this country is becoming. Electric sucks.

Not just gardeners, you’re also looking at it affecting farmers as well. Newsom owns wineries as well, will he quit using gas powered engines on that property? Very doubtful. The double talk the politicians do has gotten stale at this point. Hopefully there is an uprising in California.

nothing will come of it
you think they will fine illegals to force them into buyin all electric equipment?
not a chance
would be racist

True. I have real turf in the front and 'Synlawn' in the backyard because our three dogs ruined the turf and fake grass is much easier to maintain and keep clean when three dogs are peeing and pooping on it. It is not cheap to install though.

Are trackers considered small engine equipment? I thought this only applies to one cylinder engines. In California, there is also a ban going into effect in 2035 on diesel engines which will definitely impact tractors and other farm equipment.

Not necessarily tractors as of now, but you’re looking at some of the other equipment they use to manage the farms.
-
How are they going to clean all that shitty ass graffiti and bum shit on the sidewalks without power washers? Electric power washers are trash.

My only experience with electric operated equipment are the kinds of items you use around the house like power tools and gardening equipment. Most of it Ryobi. Commercial gardeners will need a lot of batteries to get through a days work. I used my Ryobi string trimmer to cut down an area of about 200 sq. ft. of spent perennial ground cover last month. The battery was reaching it's end by the time I finished which was maybe an hour later.

Theyl be dependant on those sweet hydraulic saws those contracters for the state use

That's art, bro.

BoB will get a goat.
You can hire a herd or tribe of goats to clear your property. They make just as much noise as a power mower, but the only gas involved is intestinal.

And they fertilize your lawn with poop.

If I remember correctly, their poop looks like rabbit pellets. If there's any grass or ground cover, you'd hardly notice it.
