I grew up on All in The Family which in my opinion is the poster child for woke leftest propaganda television.
Archie Bunker was a working class white male living in Queens NY in the mid seventies.
Archie is portrayed as an ignorant racist, while his democrat son in law is portrayed as wise and modern.
As a child I didn't particularly like this show, but the underlying political messages were lost on me.

I actually enjoyed the Mary Tyler Moore show, but the feminist agenda behind it was completely lost on me as a child.
Starkey and Hutch was on against Mary Tyler Moore, but I don't believe I would have been allowed to watch that show as a child. The dichotomy of the two show would not have been apparent to me at the time.
Her white male boss is portrayed as a knuckle dragging dinosaur. You've go spunk, I hate spunk!
This show was the beginning of career women.
Who can turn the world on with her smile?
Who can take a nothing day, and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile?
Well it's you girl, and you should know it
With each glance and every little movement you show it
Love is all around, no need to waste it
You can have the town, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
You're gonna make it after all!

The Seventies was indeed a shitty time. The Eighties could not have been more different. The Eighties was a dream compared to the Seventies (and what we've had for the past 20 years).
The Seventies was arguably worse than the current time, except I think the past year or so has been worse than the Seventies.

Different Strokes........
Now, the world don't move
To the beat of just one drum,
What might be right for you,
May not be right for some.
A man is born, he's a man of means.
Then along come two,
They got nothing but their jeans.
But they got,
Diff'rent Strokes.
It takes,
Diff'rent Strokes.
It takes,
Diff'rent Strokes to move the world.
Everybody's got a special kind of story
Everybody finds a way to shine,
It don't matter that you got
Not alot
So what,
They'll have theirs,
And you'll have yours,
And I'll have mine.
And together we'll be fine...
Because it takes, Diff'rent Strokes
To move the world.
Yes it does.
It takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world

Some great shows in this thread.

One Day At A Time......
A recently divorced single mother of two teenage daughters lives in an apartment in Indianapolis with an entertaining maintenance man.
This is it. This is it.
This is life, the one you get
So go and have a ball.
This is it. This is it
Straight ahead and rest assured
You can't be sure at all.
So while you're here enjoy the view
Keep on doing what you do
So hold on tight we'll muddle through
One day at a time, One day at a time.
So up on your feet. Up on your feet
Somewhere there's music playing.
Don't you worry none
We'll just take it like it comes.
One day at a time, one day at a time.
One day at a time, one day at a time.
One day at a time, one day at a time.
One day at a time, one day at a time.

Diffuses? Sorry, euro here.

Doofuses..?

Diffuses? Sorry, euro here.
Should have been doofuses.
A doofus is a dummy or a simpleton — in other words, a goofy person who's not very smart. You might decide not to buy a top hat and suspenders after trying them on, looking in a mirror, and realizing you look like a doofus.

It's like the doofus father they have in sitcoms like Homer Simpson. The important thing is degrade the white male and take him down a couple of notches in an effort to raise women and minorities above him.
George Jefferson meets Mr. Bentley for the first time and walks on his back.
They literally have a black man standing on a white man in the pilot. Take that whitey. Norman Lear was a genius.

All in the family was a good example of art imitating life. A lot of the 60s radicals became college professors which is what Meathead did towards the end of the shows run. In real life, if you’ve ever read Rob Reiner’s Twitter, he really is meathead.
One episode, in particular, I remember which was very good was when they played some sort of game about telling a truth about each other. Lionel Jefferson’s problem with Meathead was that he would always treat Lionel like a representative of the black race instead of just a human being. Libs do that all the time.

Taxi was a great show. If they did it today, everyone would be black or Brown 😂

Can you imagine that passing in today's "woke" society? Rickels was a comedic genius no doubt ;D
-
I could only imagine what it would’ve been like to listen to that. Funny because it’s so uncomfortable.
Looking at the cut aways to Wilt, I don’t think he thought it was as funny as the rest of them.
-
There was wokeness but also a lot of freedom. Can't do this today:

The Jeffersons...
Wealthy black businessman living in a deluxe apartment in they sky with a maid and interracial neighbor couple. Note, all white males are including the two white neighbors are made to be doofuses.
The other regular white male character was Ralph, the doorman, who wasn't portrayed as a doofus, but rather as a conniving rascal.

Diffuses? Sorry, euro here.
Tom Willis typifies the doofus white males are portrayed as.

Jimmie "J.J." Walker of "Good Times":
You'll never see a poor black family on television again.
In the future all black families on television will be a doctor and lawyer couple like the Cosby show.

When I was a little kid my grandparents were babysitting me and took me to the store in a large city. I was from a small town and the only black people I ever saw were on TV. In the store was a young black man and I pointed at him and screamed out "look, it's JJ!" to my grandparents. ;D

Tom Willis typifies the doofus white males are portrayed as. Notice his wife is a beautiful strong black woman while Tom is portrayed as a fat slob looser type who George makes fun of.
Aha, DOOFUS i know! Diffuses i didn't :D
