both looks crazy good.Do work for disney/in movies or something?
How much did you say your electric bill usually runs for the month of October?
I work in the studios as a Production Grip. This is just a hobby of mine since I love Halloween the most out of all the holidays.Have you researched the history of Halloween? All Hallows Eve, is an ancient pagan holiday. It's amazing how much we still hold onto from the past.

True but I do like the decor and the fun it brings scaring peopleOh no, I agree. I wasn't trying to put you down. I just like reading about the origin stories of our major holidays....Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas etc....

Nice, I enjoyed the videos alot.Im a sucker for the disney world era animatronics ever since I was a kid.Yeah, I need to go back to Universal Studios. The last time I went, Jaws and Back To The Future were the hottest attractions.

Disney World/Land, is catered more towards families and especially children.
Last time I went I think spiderman was the hottest new ride.No idea what is most recent now.Back to the Future and E.T stuck out for me when I went.I'm sure rides like Avatar and Jurassic Park would blow me away. The technology has improved so much since I have been there.

Hell, some of the villains in his movies....Sandman (horrible casting) Dr. Octopus, played by a fat Mexican (maybe Puerto Rican)
I like this years better.
Where do you store all that stuff in the off season?

All have deep roots in history.
I didnt think you were. It's cool eseI didn't know I was an MS-13 gang member.
This is my setup so far. I am almost finished but more to put up:
And this was my setup last year at this time. It too wasnt completed til Halloween night:
Which do you think is better? This years or last years? Just curious to know. Thanks.
.

Orale Vato!
Good setup man. There’s so much going on. Maybe edit it just a bit. It won’t look too chaotic and people can enjoy it more.
where the heck do you even buy these props?Spirit Halloween, Home Depot, Costco, internet
+1 for last year.
how long does set up and tear down take? do you do it yourself? or have help?
4 large sheds in the backyardHaha damn.
Edit the setup or the video?
The setup, seems you're trying to fill in every square foot. Maybe space things out a bit so it looks cleaner and not like a Halloween swap meet.
Great stuff man, I love the ghost floating back and forth and loads of other stuff.
Are you neighbors cool with everything? Any complaints?
If you want constructive criticism then last years looked better, more fleshed out. Both still look great though.
Thanks for your honest opinion. I agree with you to a point. I do like to fill everything up and I think it looks better in person than in video.
Overall it's super cool. How did you get the swings to sway? What are you using to get the ghosts to fly back and forth. Also have you ever dealt with little shits trying to steal or mess around with your setup? That's what I was wondering as well. He's a Halloween OG, and he does such a good job, that his neighbors, will keep watch, also.

Great job Yorkie!
Does your display cause traffic jams? Does the local news feature this?

Shizzo I understand what you're saying but what is your point?Which is why I'm fascinated with those holidays. They have stood the test of time, and we still celebrate them today.
A new tradition would be rooted in history after 50 years.
Awesome set up MYL.

Very cool. I briefly worked as a grip when I was in my late teens. It was hard work with long hours. In those days the studios were only required to give you 8 hours off between shifts. Since I was at the bottom of the roster, the work wasn't steady. It was crazy hard for a week and then nothing for weeks on end. A friend of my parents who worked as a painter for the studios got me in the door. But, that was all.
Your Halloween set-ups are amazing. People must come great distances to see them. Does it ever cause traffic congestion?
Primemuscle, thinking he's gonna get a grip.
Dude, just worry about living. You are old as fuck.

It does slow traffic down a bit. Ive been in a few local papers in the past but never on the news
That's awesome. I always enjoy seeing things like this for Halloween.
When i was a kid, there was a house down the street that went all out like this.
Every year the guy that lived there would dress up in some different costume and hide somewhere inside the area.
Wait for kids to get distracted looking at everything.
Then jump out and scare the shit out of them.
I do dress as Michael Myers and scare kids and adults. Its pretty funny how some people freak out
We knew it was coming but it caught us every time. ;D
Not sure you can do that anymore these days. Kids might get traumatized.
Do you buy or make most of your stuff?
