The first time I saw the reverse hyper was in a gym in South Carolina. I noticed nobody used it. Of course I had to try it.  Yes, it hurt my lower  back. The rest of week training there I steered clear of it like everyone else in the gym.  A conventional hyper works my lower back fine with zero lower back irritation. The entire week I was there no one used it.

It's a good movement for lower back ime but I find it uncomfortable on my belly. Get out of breath and hurts  :D

To be fair, Simmons's version is a much more elegant solution to them. Forget holding a dumbbell in your feet, iron boots, and all that other stuff.

I very much like the feel of them done sparingly.

Yet another in a long line of exercises designed to hurt you, haha

Like most exercises, you need to gradually work into things.

The reverse hyper machine is no different.  You start very light and ramp up the intensity slowly over time.

If you go at it too hard at first you will mess yourself up.
