That M&F with Coe on the cover was the first muscle mag I ever bought.

The best is Tim Fogarty didn't scan the covers of the Muscular Development covers that had girls on them, he lists them as "Female" or "inappropriate cover". I respect that level of gayness and schmoedom.
-
I had all 3 of those mags.

It's funny how Hoffman always accused Weider of pornography, yet he was the first to publish an all nude cover.

who were the twin sisters?

I had stacks of magazines going way back to when I was a kid in Union city, NJ when Weider's place would hand me expired magazines for free. When I moved out on my own I threw them out and there were crazy stacks of them. Could have been hundreds. All I kept were the Ironman magazines. I wish I kept the Weider's too.

100% sure this is the first magazine I got my mother to purchase when I was in elementary.
-
Regarding muscle magazines when I was dating my wife then girlfriend she saw my stacks of muscle magazines. She told me after we were married she thought it was a very odd thing. Her four brothers were into football and baseball. No one ever bought a muscle magazine. She thought only gay guys bought them.
-
It was actually more fun getting info from the magazines than it is now, when I can learn about anything with a few keystrokes.

Lmfao yeah also having posters of bodybuilders looked gay, but if you are not gay you are not gay, it is what it is

I still have the Strength and Health, and Ironman, and powerlifting USA mags for the 1970's and 1980's. I they are all packed and sealed. I have no idea what to do with them? Maybe I should sell them. They only cost like 60 and 75 cents back then.

I sold off a bunch of mine when I needed the space. If I could do it over again, I'd buy a decent scanner, and scan then sell them. The older issues go for pretty decent money, and things like Arnold, Louie, and Cory Everson covers can sell surprisingly high.
I keep hoping that someone will buy the rights to the old issues, and sell downloadable classic issues or sets like some other types of magazines are doing, but no such luck.

I have a ton of magazines

She's just listed as "Linka", no other info, and a blank as far as current googling.

Bob Hoffman died in 1985, nine years before that cover was published.
Twinlabs had already owned Muscular Development for 8 years when that issue was published.
Twinlabs was founded by David and Jean Blechman and run by their sons, including Steve Blechman, who later purchased the magazine after he resigned from Twinlabs.
The Blechmans published the nude cover.

if you are not gay you are not gay, it is what it is
attraction to a female is like.. the strongest force in the world.
u can hate them and want them at the same time, and that is fuked up.
definitely a liability.
-
Interesting in that back in the day, bodybuilding was promoted as healthy and sexy and for both men AND women... Magazine covers regularly featured attractive couples for this promotion I guess trying to reach the mainstream and what not....
eventually it was a hopeless cause because of various reasons (steroid "scandals", the media shaping societal views on built bodies, "ewww, too much, it's gross" etc, etc...) and so it seems the mags went full on hardcore dropping the women and only posting mass monsters making the fitness/bodybuilding world even more of a niche "sport".....
of course the internet changed everything as well..
