I find it hard to believe those plates are real on the inside.

::) ::)
they are obviously fake
-
They are fake to make it easier for stagehands/roadies to deal with...and reduce the weight of the shipped props...

I remember that show. Have you ever seen Warlord in person in his prime?
That dude was a MONSTER. I saw him at the 1990 Royal Rumble when he was still a member of the Powers of Pain.
A guy that big could easily hit 500 for that many reps.
CT Fletcher could rep with 495 and he was nowhere near Warlord's size.

Brutal if true

Warlord was stronger than Ed Conan.
After all he was a larger man with bigger muscles.

I'm sure I once heard warlord squatted 315 for 100 reps

Not much bend in that bar...500lbs is a lot of weight.

Guy was a monster. I hit 495 for a triple many years ago on 400 mgs of eq a week weighing 255-260.

CT Fletcher was not truly natty though

The way they used to do it is to put something like #225 in real weights, then fake the rest. The best were aluminum plates which ran about about #15 for a #45 sized plate. You get the clink of metal, and they have a little weight to them so you get a more of a realistic look from loaders, when they bang into things, etc.....
Also before they got popular, bumper plates were great for this. The old HBO show "1st and Ten" used to use bumpers a lot when setting up a big lift.

I witness the British bulldog bench 500 for 8 clean reps at Golds in Fl in 1990. He was some damn strong. He was so red I thought he was going to drop dead in the gym.

Notice the bar barely moves as he does rapid reps.
Plus, you've got a HS drop out wearing a Harvard sweatshirt , spotting with 2 rejects from the Jazz Kings.
Then, you've got Vince McMahn in classic gray sweats from Wal-Mart.
Lastly, the guy benching is a WWE pro wrassler, which everyone knows is a real "sport".
Those wts are as fake as Pam Anderson's boobs on Baywatch .

Remember Cuomo toying with his fake 100 on tv never telling anyone it was fake. It had to weigh 10lbs.
-
No one has ever benched 500 for that many reps, not even close. Who has hit 500 for 10? Anyone know the highest number of reps with 500?

Taxman Brian cockerill claimed 600 for ten

Yes. Then Joe Rogan said it could have been real. ;D

That’s right. Edward Conan. And The Warlord.
Wrestling names are real.

Julius Maddox.
He even has video of doing 600 for 9, raw.

And here is one of Larry Wheels doing 12. Form is a bit sloppy but that is impressive

Do a search for fake plates, bars and fake dumbbells. Even Amazon sells them.
-
Yes. Then Joe Rogan said it could have been real. ;D
I wonder if he paid attention watching the video? Nope, no way in hell could he toy with that dumbbell so casually. Then he hands the dumbbell to an assistant who plays along getting handed the dumbbell as he pretends he can't hold it as it rides warp speed to the floor.

He was watching and paying attention from what I could tell on his show when he was discussing it. For a guy into MMA and hormones and all that it seemed a very ridiculous thing to say, even if he was "playing the middle" like he likes to do. Sometimes you need to call bullshit out.

A barbell loaded with solid cast aluminum made to resemble 500 pounds of iron would weigh about 180 lbs...ignoring the bar and clamps.

Mark Henry was a pro wrestler too, as was Ken Patera. I guess we just throw their lifts out the door. There goes Henry's 2002 ASC Strongman title.

Possibly the strongest man to ever lived
