Was a fucking badass flick. Lance Hendrickson was fucking awesome in it too. William Forsythe rounding it out. Hell...even Canadian Strongman Tom Magee was in it.

awesome Movie! 🤘 “ God forgives …. The brotherhood doesn’t .. Stone Cold … and then some! “ you look like a grown up version of Bam Bam!

I once saw it on a double bill with "Showdown in Little Tokyo", pretty awesome. The guy that directed Stone Cold, Craig Baxley was a long established stunt man for years before the film, so that's why a lot of the action is so good -

Seems like a good film so far (violent)

I watched entire movie, good movie

Really cool movie thanks for the thread. I just watched it. Ended up downloading the movie from another site. But the youtube link is also good.
This movie is a cult classic like Roadhouse. But even more badass. The big guy he beat up in the fist fight was WSM competitor Tom Magee who came second in 1982 behind Bill Kazmaier.
Magee was assaulted in front of his home by six men in 2018. Here's a pic of his facial injuries.

Excellent movie. Really good. I've seen some of the fight scenes before but never the whole movie. Well worth it.

Quintessential 80s college football 🏈 god.pro career sucked

With due respect to Bosworth, BO Jackson pretty much had a great influence in ending Bosworth's pro career. Bosworth was never quite the same after Jackson powered over him over in the Raiders vs Seahawks game in '87. After that hit by Jackson Bosworth's shoulder was never quite the same.
Barry Switzer, the old school hard nose coach of Oklahoma, kicked Bosworth off the team for steroid abuse. Bosworth was picked up by Seattle in a supplemental drift as #1 pick.
Bo Jackson played MLB before signing with the Raiders, and played well. Once broke a bat in half his knee after striking out. (think it was for striking out) .
Jackson was natural powerful and gifted athlete who probably could excel in any sport.. Bosworth was a great college football player, but that does not always transfer over to the pro's. Long list of college stars who never quite made it in pro football.

Bo Jackson played only 3 or 4 years in the NFL. Couldn’t handle hits at the pro level.

Even in those few years, he never played close to a full season. I think it was because he was playing baseball simultaneously and only played in football games after the MLB season ended (typically in the middle of the NFL season).

His rushing stats are great if you extend them out over a full season and assume he'd produce at that same rate, but it's a big "what-if?".

Bo Jackson had that hip injury
...eventually lead to avascular necrosis

Bosworth football career went down hill after he tested positive for steroids. His regular tests led to him playing clean and he was terrible clean.

ill add this one as a movie here most have probably never seen, much better movie than stone cold, think bourne/john wick/taken

Bullshit! These myths about Bosworth just never die. That play was pumped up by the sports media but it wasn't all that great and nobody else would have stopped Jackson on that play especially at that angle.
Bosworth was injured in a playoff game against the Houston Oilers when the fullback hit him with a block and seriously injured his shoulder. He never recovered and failed the physical the next year and had to end his football career. While he was with the Seahawks he was actually the leading tackler and still had a few records up until a few years ago.
Stone Cold was a very good movie for it's budget and I was surprised his movies were all straight to DVD after that first big film. Maybe he was difficult to work with on set. Now he plays the sheriff on the Dr. Pepper college football commercials.

What the fuck happened to this guy? He looks like the virgin meme. He used to be pure chad. WTF?
We've all seen people lose muscle. Happens to almost everyone. But it's rare to see somebody turn into a complete stick-figure with literally zero muscularity.

Old age (63), plus tons of endurance work. He got big into bicycling and I think triathlon type stuff in the mid 90's, and every few years he'd get smaller and smaller. He was tall and a little lanky as a youngster, so I guess he's going back to that.
Edit, a few years ago -

I got into triathlon for a few years. It's hard to keep much mass/strength on when doing 5-10 hours/week of swimming/cycling/running. And that's just getting started in triathlon, I wasn't doing the long stuff. People training seriously for full-length Ironman races will do way more than that.

I dont understand what studios were thinking with bosworth. Its clear they had a big action star on their hands with his first role in stone cold, yet he doesn't make a movie for 5 years after?

May have been the same scenario as with Brendan Frasier
A high movie exec touched his bum (and wanted more) and Bosworth wouldnt have none of it

He played in a grand total of 39 games (1 was a playoff game). 16 touchdowns in his NFL career.

Would like to ask the director what he was like on set.

I think Bosworth was ok, that film was apparently a bear to work on. The first director left because of personal problems, Baxley took over, and the film changed somewhat. It took 9 months to film and went way over budget, it was supposed to take about 2. There's also supposedly a few different cuts of the film, one that shows Bosworth as a family man, that Baxley didn't like and cut, a cut with extra sex and violence that they ditched to get an R rating, and the standard one.

Sounds like good changes.

Found it, here's a good q and a with Bosworth on Stone Cold -
.
He mentions really beating up Magee by accident during the film because they had to do lots of takes, and Magee wound up in the hospital. Also the original director was Bruce Malmuth, who did some of The Karate Kid films, Nighthawks, and Hard to Kill. Malmuth's kid is in the film too (biker Gut).

Everything everyone says in Hollywood is bullshit and lies, you can't accept any of that as true. They just do these interviews where they run off at the mouth trying to sound interesting.
Same with bodybuilding, maybe even worse these days because of youtube and social media.
That being said, Bosworth doesn't have to work another day in his life. That's a pretty good place to be. I remember seeing him in Gold's a lot in the early 90s, regular fixture there and in Marina area. Has the same lifestyle as those schmucks living the dream and sleeping in their cars in the parking lot, but he has the money to do it without working.

Yep- a few friends of mine are Ironman level triathletes- and they are so over trained all the time they look terrible. It becomes a cult with these types.
