Yes! ;D
He's still racing next year with Mercedes but will have George Russell as his teammate, who is rated as one of the top drivers on the grid, unlike Bottas, so should have some challenge from his teammate for a change as well.

Will they let him actually race Lewis or just run interference?
Max is my favorite driver, glad he won.
Well-deserved win.
Lewis is twat waffle. Never liked him.
-
Fuck Lewis Hamilton
-
I felt bad for Lewis. Kid knew he should've pitted either after the VSC or the SC but the team kept him out there.
I don't or can't see how ANYONE at Mercedes didn't compute that there was a BIG chance the stewards were going to let them race the last laps.
In hindsight they should've tagged Max's strategy from the VSC on and they would've been fine. BUT... this is going to sting Lewis until the day he dies.
And, to change the subject, I was glad to see Mercedes' reign end. This is a lesson to the FIA: when you introduce a change to the rules, be fucking careful of what you change because you could be giving a HUGE advantage to a single team. An advantage big enough that it'll take many of the best automotive engineers in the world many years to figure out. I mean, in the first few years, Mercedes' advantage was so large that it was painful to see others just unable to figure out the engineering around the new rules.

I don’t follow racing but am interested in what you said regarding the rule changes. Can you elaborate for us lay people?
-
Does he even lift?

The change to hybrid engines or 'power units', part turbo 1.6 L and the rest battery powered. But the battery part is extremely complex and uses two hybrid systems: one recovers kinetic energy of the car under braking (ERS-K) and the other recovers kinetic energy from the turbo charger (ERS-H).
The electric hybrid system is divided into a Battery (ES-Energy Store) and Motor Generator Unit (MGU) which is linked by a Control Electronics (CE) system. Optimizing these systems will generate more overall HP for the power unit and also be able to recharge quicker.
Mercedes apparently had some prior experience with research into this engine system and had lobbied for it's use in F1.
This year the Mercedes had a 15 km/h speed advantage on the straights compared to Red Bull.

Excellent explanation.
The Merc's had so much more top end for so many years.
I've been watching F1 since i was a kid and i stopped watching the races live for a few years because how dominant the Merc's were. I did like watching Nico beat Lewis, but a few years after that it was so boring, so i would just watch the highlights.
My brother and i have been going to the COTA race in Austin since it started.
But the rest of the season i didn't like getting up at 4am to watch overseas races live, when nobody but Lewis had a chance unless he crashed.
This season was amazing for me. I always like Max. Every race was exciting again.

This is great news as long as Hamilton didn't win !! ;D

Correct - only thankfully Silly Bollocks Soy Boy didn't win. ;D
-
lewis knew after max's tire changes he could be in trouble.... lewis last message was the final straw, he knew what was coming...

Haha exactly

Ok, so Hamilton lost the championship in a dominant car ;D
Verstappen had 10 wins compared to Hamilton’s 8. Verstappen also had more pole positions, more podiums, more fastest laps and more laps led.

Interesting. Concise explanation there. I don't follow the sport at all but I am a car guy. Anyways, wouldn't all the teams have to agree to the change or at least a majority. Smells like corruption.

Red Bull dominated the Merc's when things were equal.
But Bottas is a better driver than Checo. More consistent.
Max is by far the best driver in F1.
Next year will be amazing.
The Merc's advantage is not nearly as much as it was before.

Politics.
Lots of money in F1.

Love him or loathe him (clear what camp 99% of Getbiggers sit in) Hamilton is still the best driver.
Next season will be interesting as Mercedes stopped upgrading their cars earlier this season to focus on next season's car. Hamilton's 2nd place finish is impressive when you take that into account.
Never good to see one team dominating a sport so hopefully this year was just the first of closely contested championships.
-
ILewis should have just caused a crash with Max on the last lap and hope he drove away and Max didn't.
The race director fucked up big time though. F1 will make sure Mercedes win everything next year to make it up to them.

Lewis is the best driver in history, but not this season.
I think Mercedes will always have an advantage.
Without Bottas blocking for him, i think Lewis will struggle.
I think Lewis is an amazing driver, i leave my personal feelings about him out of the equation, but he lost fair and square this season.
If anything he is lucky the race for #1 wasn't settled a few races ago.
Mercedes will be stronger next year. I'm just curious how strong Red Bull will be.
-
The gap in $$/performance makes f1 unbearable. Its like a caste system.
Oh, lap 1 merc p1,p2? Turn the race off it's over.
-
F1 was much more funner back then, the v10, v12 engines, manual transmissions. Haven’t watched since Schumacher
Senna was my favorite all time
-
Mercedes will still be strong next year.... Russell is a good driver... he was damn good when he got to drive for a race, Sakhir... bad pit stop and then a puncture stopped his debut victory...
-
Hamilton is still the best driver.
Nah, not this season
10 wins for Verstappen vs 8 for Hamilton
10 poles for Verstappen vs 5 for Hamilton
Verstappen was in the lead more than 2x the laps Hamilton was.
Mercedes was 10 mp/h faster on main straights and they still managed to lose the title.
Re: last race, Verstappen took a risk by changing tyres multiple times, Hamilton was conservative by changing just one. The gamble paid off, Verstappen did nothing wrong. It was Mercedes' own fault for running 40+ laps with the same tyres, Hamilton was asking to box. That was foolish and unnecessary.

The Best Driver Won. ;D
Not the one with the best or fastest car.
Both of them in the exact same car Max would leave Soy Boy far far behind.
FFS when Lulu was off with the virus & the rookie driver drove his car set up for Lulu he was easily winning
the race, (He'd never driven that car before) - until Mercedes Put The Wrong Tyres on Deliberately, Just so he wouldn't Burst Lulu's Best Driver Bubble !!! FFS ::)

They all agreed to the engine rule changes.
I think the other teams just underestimated Mercedes and the complexity of these turbo hybrid engines.
Before the rule changes F1 cars were using 2.4L V6 fuel-injected engines.

Seeing how he fares against George Russell in the same team next year will be interesting.

As long as he has the same car specification & not a sub par one - Mercedes deliberately stopped him
winning his maiden GP in Lulu's car so as not to show Soy Boy up.
-

Indeed!
I think Lewis will have his hands full with Max and Russell.
Assuming Mercedes allows Russell to go full pace.

Should be be a great season at least with more competition.
If Ferrari recovers, then we could have three teams fighting for race wins.
All with excellent drivers.

F1 drivers would do good in bbing, all are sub 5’6
