I was watching a movie called "Lady In The Water" a few nights ago (didn't finish it). Early on in the movie a character is introduced who is buff on one side of his body and average on the other because he intentionally only works out one side of his body. He says it's an experiment. Even though it's presented as a joke, I was thinking that it's actually a pretty logical way to study hypertrophy. Under certain conditions, it would probably be more informative than group averaging results.
Anybody know if any studies have ever been conducted like this?

Its already been proved, check out your wanking arm..

All I know is I bought get big cream from China. Took five months to arrive. It smelled like hell but I used it every day. In the end it didn't work but now I have one big hand. It's gigantic.

That is really smart, you could train one arm with bicep-curls and the other one with hammer-curls. Maybe it makes no difference at all..

You really didn't get that the point of my post was comparing training methodologies on the same body? ??? Since that's what almost every study on hypertrophy does, compare methodologies.

Again not the point of the post. I can't believe your takeaway was that I was asking whether or not working out a muscle makes it more developed.

Yeah, but I was also thinking stuff like volume vs intensity, strength vs volume, and even stuff like working out pre or post meal. Would be interesting to see which of these things really matters.

Sorry to be so rough on you, but I don't tolerate this kind of carelessness in my threads.
Also, since you're crying, please don't come in here again.

I think it is absolute genious, i am relative sure someone will pick it up and make a youtube video out of it. It would be really interesting to see and it would end ton's of discussion's. HIT vs Volume etc..

There is quite a bit of research on the topic of "contralateral effects of unilateral training", for example if you just train your right arm, what happens to your left arm?
