The United States Football League (USFL) is a planned professional American football league scheduled to start in April 2022. It was first announced June 2021 that the league will have the same name as a defunct league which was founded in 1982 and played three seasons from 1983 through 1985.
Fox Sports owns the league and reportedly has committed $150-200 million over three years to its operations, with plans to attract additional $250 million from investors.

This is good news. As a young boy I saw a couple of Michigan Panther games at the old Pontiac Silverdome. We had a great team and the games were awesome. I was starting to like the XFL a couple years ago or whatever the fuck it was called.

Every one of these football startups quit before they even get 1 season in. I am done with trusting them. Loved the original USFL in the 80's.

It's disappointing that hardly anyone checks the other boards.

Original USFL had quality players and that’s been the problem with every start up league since then.

Yes. Every league startup in recent years has players that all dream of playing in the NFL. If they have a great season and are picked up by an NFL team this is tough on the fans of the team he played for. The rosters change so much fans have a hard time supporting guys who will be gone the next year.

They need deeper pockets to compete.

They aren't even competing with the NFL but are like a minor league.

But without the Hershel Walker's, Jim Kelly's, Steve Young's, Reggie White's....

I know they are playing all the games in one or two stadiums in Alabama or somewhere down south. Has anyone heard if they plan on changing that if the league takes off and/or is successful? Having a Michigan team other than the fucking Lions to watch for me would be great.

No, they probably want to see what the TV ratings are first.
