I just read this on social media……
Dear friends,
The holiday season is always a time of joy and greeting old friends, but too often there are sad goodbys.
This evening,(just an hour ago) this evening December 23rd, our dear friend Chris Dickerson succomed to heart failure. As you all know, the last two years have been a tremendous challenge for Chris, and he finally is at peace.
Thanks to close Christian friends like Joe Distinti, and Bill Neylon, Chris has found the comfort of The Lord in these past years. We are confident he is in a better place and at last free from pain . We will miss him.
Chris was the last of triplets to pass away, may he rest in peace.

Chris came to our gym decades ago and I received a heads up from the staff that he could be quite blatant in his (and I am being polite) "flirting" so they suggested I not train that day.
I had a couple of friends there that were homosexual that I sometimes trained along side and they agreed that I should avoid the gym if he was there. My friends were real friends to me. They NEVER said anything untoward to me and told their friends to do likewise else I might be upset and go full retard in defense of myself. I skipped training that day. Not a big deal for me and at the least it saved face for Dickerson.
I have pretty much no problem with someone that is homosexual so long as I am not subjected to attempts to sway my morality, if you will. Per the staff of the gym and my two friends, Chris was the kind of person that would do so.
And now we read that he accepted the Nazarene prior to assuming room temperature. If so, and if genuine and if what we know of Jesus of Nazareth is true, then Chris sleeps in Christ. And I am doomed to Hell because I have rejected the One.
I have no doubt that some here, homosexual and heterosexual, find that "disgusting". Go ahead. Go there. I assure you that you will be put in your place with ease.

Everyone knows about Dickerson. Some of his graphic pictures went beyond typical nudes that most bb's have done. And his physique was odd. Fairly complete when he was younger but riddled with tears by the time he won the O. I don't know what the judges saw in his build. But he was really successful and well respected by his peers.
We already know how you feel about Dickerson FFS. Duly noted. No need to bring it into an RIP thread. It's pretty low class, even for GB.

looking at the lineup, it was a pretty well matched contest. Who should have won, Danny Padilla? Makawy looked good but kinda small, Platz was Platz ... Dickerson deserved to win as much as anyone

Platz had that horrible bicep tear that year. He never really recovered. Before the injury he was on track to be even better than his 81 shape but that injury cost him badly.
Padilla was bitter ovee 81 and wasn't in his bedt shape. Thought he deserved better than 10th though.
Coe was really small. He said he was using somekind of uppers training for the event. He said he felt so good, so much energy he was delusional about his appearance. When he went back and saw the pictures he realized he looked like shit. He said it was a real bitch quitting the uppers.
Either Zane or Viator should've won. Zane was a little off his best form but Viator nailed it. The 82 Olympia was his all time best shape.
Bannout looked good as well but was still a year away from his peak.

Chris had one of the most prolific careers of any top competitors in terms of victory or top 2 whether as an amateur or a pro at the NABBA and the IFBB and was almost unbeatable between 79 and 82.

Perhaps him being such a low body weight is what gave him his long lifespan. Among Mr. Olympia winners who have thus far passed away, he had the oldest lifespan. So that's good. I wish I can say the same for the post-Lee Haney crop of guys.

Franco in 81 was absolutely the worst Olympia winner. Ripped muscles, bad, bad gyno, and a burnt out look. 1981 was one of the worst years for it, lots of guys not doing it, the specter of Arnold left over from 80, etc.... Dickerson was 2nd in 81, you could've put him in first no problem.

Dickerson had a very strange looking mouth for a blaxk man. Even his nose. Both had a sorta flattened out look. Not typical negro bulbous features. His mouth and nose looked depressed....from sucking on too much cock. Possibly being pushed down into a cock and held there.

Disagree. No torn muscles. He was actually hard as granite and about as good of shape as he could have possibly have been in. His upper body was on par with everyone else that day, minus the gyno.
His legs were never sliced. It didn't hurt him as bad in the 70's but in just a few years the criteria changed alot. His legs were what they always were. One was still atrophied from his accident. Overall he was in great condition.

NABBA UK which I judge they don't have specif points to deduct for Gyno it is judged on the best overall physique though there is a judging criteria that i try to stick to - personally I'd place a competitor lower for very obvious Gyno & or Synthol use, it would cost him placings for me - I make notes on my judging sheets when ever possible as to why I've placed someone accordingly.
That said Yes some one with Gyno could still win if he's better in every other area than his competitors & depending how the other judges place him.
