Title: Newbie
Post by: Big Brother on April 23, 2006, 05:44:17 PM
What up brothern of the iron. I am new to the roids and just recently decided to try a cycle. Right now I am 275 w/28% body fat. I had knee surgery (petella tendon) and gained a lot of body fat. I am taking the cycle to help me get back to where I was and then some. I would like to reduce body fat as well. I have Super Test, decandrol, and dianavar. Any suggestions on cutting bodyfat? How long should I run this and at what levels?

BabyBro,

I suggest you diet and up your cardio, get your BF% down to a respectable level before you consider any cycle.

I suggest you do your rehab and get your knee stability back before you entertain thoughts of anything else as well.

How far out are you from surgery?  I had surgery on my quad when I was in my teens, and I considered myself 'recently operated on' for a full year....took it real slow with the leg work...

You need to tell us WAY more about yourself: age, wt, training hstory, cycling history (bulkers vs cutters vs compunds used vs gains/sides from these drugs, etc ie whatever else you can add).

Realize, no one can recommend much without more info.....Help us out here.

I had surgery in April, I am 34 years old. Height is 6 even. Bench 375, Squat back to 315 (still recovering). My bodyfat was measured on an electronic scale, I doubt it's true acuracy but tht's all I got right now. My BI's are 20 inches, haven't measured anything else. Never touched the juice before. What else do you need to know?

Wait till your leg is 100%...then train a couple months to get back to your original state......then make the choice to juice....

Dont do it now.....

I appreciate the sentiment, but I am sure you know how I feel, hard to sit back and wait. I am working my ass off now, I already have the goodies, I am knee deep in a good training program... why not now? Don't get me wrong, I respect your opinion, just curious why...

Well, you havent stated whether or not your knee is ready for training.  Also, if your knee is ready....are your squats where they were before the surgery?  If not, dont cycle yet.

Next, if you are not where u were before....and this cycle brings you back to your prior body and maybe a bit beyond....that would be a waste.  You can attain your old body naturally.  Steroids are meant to push you beyond!  Therefore, what till you are at least where you were, then take your body to the next level.  Do not take steroids to get to where you already were....what a waste that would be....

AAS aren't especially favorable to tendons.  We ran a thread on this a while back.  In fact, patella tendon rupture is quite common among users of AAS.  I would wait a full year to recover from that particular injury before I would jeopardize the repair (if it helps you to know this, I'm also an orthopaedic surgeon).

So I guess someone must have told me to treat it gingerly for a full year.....I don't remember the recomendation, but I damn sure did follow it....nothing but LIGHT squats for a whole year

Indeed, Freaker...

Some AAS are worse than others in terms of being detrimental to the connective tissue.  Winstrol has a bad habit of causing tendons/ligaments to become more brittle leading to frequent tears.

That's why I recommend running Deca and Winstrol together.

it maynot b to accurate..... at 28% you should have some pretty good sized love handles and gut so if you do then this is true...... but ill tell you this , i stepped on one of those weight meters in front of gnc in the mall just for kicks, and since im 6'1 it told me my ideal weight is 175, well since i weight wayyyyyy more then this (all muscle though) it told me i had a high body fat percentage too

You can't guage your BF% by typical height/weights standards.

Those are never accurate, because different bodytypes and races hold weight differently.

Genetics determines the tendency towards muscle or BF and thus, there is no way to guage accurately no matter which electronic device you use.

Water displacement works, though.

Update, I decided to wait, my leg press is back to where it was but I am barely getting 315 for 10 reps on squats and before I could rep out at least 15. I picked up 405 and didn't even try it. To the bone specialist, how long before the inflammation goes away? My knee looks like a damn grapefruit!

ALSO: I got my BF done at a 24 hour fitness with calipers and tape, I was 23% ...

Just take it slowly, it is much harder to fully recover after repeated injury. I understand your feelings (broke my spine in a car accident 3 months ago, I'm also eager to start lifting ASAP, but at this moment I'm happy that I'm able to walk and carry my little daughter), but keep your weights moderate and listen to your body. Try to reduce your BF levels too, that will also do you good.

BabyBro,

You need to stop trying to push the max if your knee is fucked up.  Remember, you have to use that knee to walk.  Being able to squat 400lbs. won't mean much if you are disabled from overdoing it.

Calipers and tape don't mean anything.  Not very accurate.
