A narcissist wouldn’t hide.

Exactly.

He will go down in flames and still tell everyone he's not on fire.

Like when his kidneys fail, he will pull a Derek Anthony and claim he's fine.

Bhank is an undead, what will be his legacy?
Would he become a legend on Getbig post PIP?
Legendary because of his denial about his health despite all the warnings and his blind ego not to realize that a "shredded" body stuffed on steroids doesn't always mean someone is healthy?

You can see the plates in the video not my attention to hide anything just working on my form by filming and reviewing each set. I guess I can step out of the cage next time if Getbig wants a cover shot my concern is my body positioning not the weight but might look cooler if you could see the plates. This was also my final set. I am trying to make sure my form doesn't break down from first to final set. Did you think this shit was a game? I have a strategy and a plan

But I also had serious knee pain yesterday (and everyday) on the way to the gym. It hurts when I walk it hurts when I stand it hurts when I fucking sleep. It is a near constant pain that would make you want to cry but I am still in that squat rack making it happen

So why are you abusing yourself with squats?   Better off w medium weight leg press for high reps superset w extensions and curls, etc

Not hard to accomplish in an empty gym.

Doesn't look like 405.

Squatting deeper than most of todays gym goers isn`t really saying much cuz most do curtsy type quarter "squats" in the Smith Machine with way too much weight, a half inch deeper and most would get crushed ala J.P. Fux.

By the looks of that squat style That is what is helping make your Knees hurt,
You look to be tipping forwards & the weight / drive is through the sole of your foot.
Body position/ foot stance / placement of bar etc all need to be looked at.

FFS Man - you're having to film it to know its wrong.
How long have you been training ??
Jeez FFS man I only see that one lousy picture & straight away picked up on a few things.

If there was anything about you , you'd be asking advice on how to correct what your doing wrong
Not Fcuking Filming it.

Let alone what other exercises your doing incorrectly.

Everyone gives advice. Why do I need to ask? I can tell who to listen to and who to ignore. If you don't film it then fuck no you are not going to be able to properly critique your form. You think anyone is more critical than me?

I mean you say I am leaning forward but guys in squat suits can sit back more. I am not wearing a powerlifting suit or any kind of compression shorts. I am also wearing a heal which will push you forward. I have the bar firmly on my traps but yes I do adjust it some and try to keep it further back but again without a photo I have nothing to compare and critique and evaluate to work on.  But yes obviously I am always trying to sit back more. I am still getting a decent depth with decent form anyway you slice it. Can it improve of course which is why I am looking at it after every set and adjusting and thinking about what to do different the next set. But is this a bad squat I don't think so but it's getting better regardless.

What's the purpose of pain? It is to let us know something is broken or hurt and we are doing something wrong. Don't ignore it. Or ignore it and end up in a wheelchair.

FFS man - just carry on fcuking yourself up.
I'm very clearly aware of your body position & bar position also you foot stance & what you have on your feet & How that all affects, Just from 1 photo.

Still you know Best - Well Obviously you don't as you're encountering problems.

Its a more natural movement. I hear noises coming from both knees when I leg press after squatting. I do extensions and curls. Also squats just feel different.

I think I want the bar further back on the traps but I do have my knees wider than shoulder width as Dave recommends. But yes idea is to make sure my butt is going down and I don't start leaning forward or going higher as I get tired. Flexibility should continue to improve as I do more squats. I should try bringing my hands closer together to tighten up my back

I leaned my phone against a bench on the floor there was nothing else to prop the phone on. Again not really too worried about it. I know I had a good squat workout and legs feel great. Also no neck or lower back pain either during or after left knee is a little off but that is typical was off prior. If I continue to do this everyweek I see no reason I won't make leg gains.

Always look at a spot in the wall or mirror a bit higher than eye level {in other word ,keep your head up a bit} .....helps the back to stay tight and the spine to stay straight.

Also, lower the bar to the top or so of your rear delts keeping the elbows well back....this forms a perfect "cradle" for the bar once you get it down pat.

Well then, best of luck to you. It's your body and you should know it better than anyone.

Personally, I don't see this as an all or nothing situation. Sure, if you sit on your ass doing nothing at all, your knee issues will probably not improve and may get worse. On the other hand, if you push them beyond their limits you could end up a cripple sooner rather than later. There's got to be some middle ground. There is a lot you can do exercise wise to protect your knees from further injury. Deep, heavy squats isn't one of them.

I am not sure I agree with proper form you should be strengthening not just the muscle but all the connective stabilizing tissue around the knee. This is why the squat should be superior to any kind of machine for knee stabilization the very destabilizing factors of the lift increase your stability strength.
Title: Re: Is bhanks heading for the biggest fall since Pillowtalk?
Post by: bhank on February 24, 2022, 12:43:58 PM
Think of it this way when squatting you have to stabilize the weight there is some shifting around. That destabilize feeling is what is actually increases your stability as it is stressing and strengthening all the muscles involved in stabilizing the weight. The machine forces a path and creates stabilization hence you only train the primary muscle not the stabilizing smaller muscles. A strong good knee is a stable knee. I am squatting with moderate weight. Also my knee wraps have magical protective powers bestowed by a shaman.

Exactly. Knee wraps and weight lifting belts have the same effect. They stabilize the knee and your core, which means you are not doing it yourself. You can more safely accomplish almost the same thing by changing up width of your stance, repositioning your feet and doing partial reps. One can also work on building stabilization using rocker boards and wobble boards.

You are still doing plenty of stabilizing even with a knee wrap you are doing none on a machine

Not worth it.  If it hurts stop and heal. Your body is talking to you. When you lose your mobility, you're fucked.
