I would give everything to work out with Jay or any other pro for that matter, it's not the motivation I need I get that motivation whenever I look to my left side before falling asleep and
a) See a picture of myself 3 years ago with 140Kilos overweight and fat like a rino
b) Move over to my right side were my sexy G/F sleeps
But I cannot stand the fact that the guy who works out Jay in the New, Improved And Beyond DVD looks like he couldnt give a shit at all.
When I spot my workout partner I NEVER let my guard down, I never check out chicks.
The guy who spots ::) Jay strays of and says the same thing over and over again, a 80 year old whore has more anticipation than that guy.

You know I thought the Owner of MetroFlex were Ronnie seems to work out is quit enoying, but after a while I think he is really cool, I'm sure there are people here who know him and can verify that he is aok.
But the guy from Cutlers movie.... not is he working out with THE Cutman (and I'm not a fanwhore here I just think it would be great to see somebody lift heavy poundage for a change) but he also gets filmed AND STILL LOOKS LIKE HE DOES NOT GIVE A SHIT...
If I would have been on the movie I would have shown me from my best side and shown what a REAL workout partner is about, not walking away and half arsed: Ueah Jay no pain...no pain Jay with his monoton and borning voice.
You just know he has no IDEA what pain is.
You don't want to shout in somebodys face (Dorian Yates parner in Blood and Guts springs to mind ::) ) but for ffs make it sound like you give a shit that your workout with one of the greates BB in the world you fucking dickbreath.

he's the doorman at the Mandalay - after Jay lost the 2001 Olympia he asked Jay if he could workout with him - thye've been training partners and close friends ever since . . .

I ordered the DVD. I heard it was really good. I havent heard anything about this training partner..sounds lame!
Ronnie and Yates had some intense workout partners...Levrones workout partner, the one hes eating a monster pasta lunch with before their workout seemed kinda well, umm, I dunno, didnt really fit the part...

Rick Bellcastro isn't a true workout partner, he's just shadowing Jay.
A partner has some input and there is an exchange of information, ideas, and suggestions.
Jay made it explicitly clear that he was not interested in giving Bellcastro spots in-between his sets and he was not interested in any exercises that Bellcastro would personally want to do.
I would lack enthusiasm as well after the first few weeks once I realized my "partner" didn't give a shit about my progress, merely my ability to peel plates fast enough for his dropset. I think it was gracious of Jay to allow Rick to shadow his workout, but lets be real Jay is an independent trainer.

Personally I think that Rick is funny as hell. He always says "yeah big poppa, do what you do best". One time he was at Jay's house having a post work out meal and he looked happier than a kid in a candy store.
Brian Dobson is always funny. Ronnie was bending the other bars on squats so Brian went out and bought a "Texas power bar". I loved when he explained the "texas bar".
Another time Ronnie was showing off by adding every 45lb weight around to his leg press machine, Brian had to go and get the calculator. And nothing beats Brian smacking ronnie in the head before a max squat attempt.

Dobson is fucking cool - I read in flex that he goes wild boar hunting at night with his dogs and a spear - that's some kind of awesome. flex mag asked Ronnie if he ever goes - all he said was "Hell no". his shorts are pretty gay though . . .

Agreed, Dobson is great - but I respect him because of his support and work ethic.
I also like Gunther's workout partner in Gunthermania DVD. He really pushes Gunther even though he is not in the BB world. He is a true friend and great work out partner. The best partner is one that pushes you to do better and go harder - and he does that quite well for Gunther...
