but he can still be nominated?? will still work in hollywood...
i'm pretty sure in any other profession (okay, except politics!) if someone assaults someone physically, threatens them verbally, they would not be able to find ANY WORK ANYWHERE with that in their background check?...

Yes, but could the difference be that Will hasn't been formally charged?
-
He can be nominated, but in reality, he probably won't. He can't even telecast in. The Academy isn't going to like a star that can't show up, the studios aren't going to like a star that can't be seen at the Oscars, etc.... Also the Oscar voters tide, and the Oscar Board of Governors were mostly in the Rock camp, so....
Also, he's on the same banished list as Weinstein, Cosby, and Roman Polanski, so it's a hard one to live down. They banned Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins for simply being political during the show for a few years, so they're not going to let a slap off easy.

I don't see any studio excecs putting their careers on the line to cast Will in a starring role for a big budget film.
If it cost $100 million to produce and market a film, these studios don't make a dime till they cover those costs. They need home runs. Who's willing to gamble their career Will can still hit box office home runs after this?

Racist post reported ::)

Good. He should be. The thing is he can still be nominated and win but he just can't attend.

Will is too busy buying condoms for his wife's boyfriends to care about this.

And the media says chivalry is dead.
Has anyone caught Jada’s response to this? She seems like she wants Will and his career destroyed.

In a couple years they will unban him.

Poor soul.

LOL, too much dirt in Hollyweirdo for them to be banning anyone.
BREAKING: Will Smith was banned by the Hollywood Academy, 12 days after he slapped Chris Rock.
It took the same Academy 40 years to ban Roman Polanski after he was convicted of raping a child.

White Privilege on parade: Will Smith banned from attending the Oscars for the next 10 years for slapping Chris Rock. In contrast, Donald Trump waged a coup and incited the Jan 6 terrorist attack BUT has suffered NO Penalty at all.

Kevin Spacey
Harvey Weinstein
Casey Affleck
Woody Allen
Mel Gibson
Roman Polanski
James Franco
James Toback
Dustin Hoffman
And there are allegations against Jeffrey Tambor, Richard Dreyfuss, James Woods, and Ansel Elgort.

I love the Jewish analysis of racial matters.
Like these aren't totally different or anything.

Bad Boys 4 is suspended.
He is going to suffer for being the bitch he is. Others actors in the same movies projects will too.
I'm sure Jada is happy because she is destroying him financially

May the issue be that this event happened during the awards show itself?

James Woods? Whoa.
Bombshell to me, if true.

what was his log on?

Weinstein, Cosby, and Polanski are on the permabanned list, they just did it quietly in 2017 and 2018. Another guy named Carmine Caridi was banned for selling Oscar screeners that bootleggers then copied. If you ever watched NYPD Blue, he was Vince, the old white haired union delegate detective on the show.
There are a couple of others too, but they are behind the scenes guys. Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, and Tim Robbins were banned for a little while for promoting political causes on stage, but let back after a few years.

Matt and Bhanks should offer Will a membership to their pathetic mens club.
-
Like he gives a fuck if he’s banned and can’t make anymore movies, he’s got plenty of cash.

Sue him for what slapping him? How much could he get really? His wife could take a lot but he’s still have plenty I’m sure.

This article talk about it.
https://www.businessinsider.com/can-you-really-be-sued-1-million-for-slapping-someone-2012-9
"Intentions aside, can you really be ordered to pay $1 million for slapping someone?
It depends on who you are and who you slapped, attorneys say. According to John Lenoir of Lenoir Law Firm in New York City, "If it was during Fashion Week, depending on who was slapped they may be able to collect a little more than somebody who gets slapped during an argument in a grocery store." And why is that? "It's just inherent biases. If somebody rich is injured, they're more likely to get more money. "

How much would Rock get for a slap?
In today’s society words are MUCH worse than physical actions.

I remember NYPD Blue, but not well enough to remember that guy.
Regarding Tim Robbins and the others - they promoted political causes and got temporarily banned?
Isn't the Oscars almost all politics anyway?
I was looking online, and apparently the Oscars started getting under 50M viewers in 2002, and this year, hit under 10M for the first or second time.
I vividly recall an episode of Entertainment Tonight from 1994 [possibly 1995] that said the expected audience for the Oscars was ONE BILLION.
There are many reasons for that, but the Oscars being glorified propaganda is not helping their ratings.
It's amazing how many views the Will Smith slap video got! Almost 95M views! Well into the 100M+ range if you count all the other videos that covered it. :o Haha, way more than the Oscars:

My friend's girlfriend told me that Jada's "Alopecia" is actually a botched eyebrow lift / plastic surgery scar. You can see the scar in this video [around 2:26 here]:

The NYPD Blue thing isn't that important. The guy was just a good actor that was very sketchy with the screeners. He was also famous for being first picked to play Sonny in the Godfather before James Caan took it over.
On the politics thing, Robbins, Gere, and Saradon were banned for going off script during the show. They talked about Tibet and Haiti. The rule the Oscars have, is say anything if you're a winner, it's your 45 seconds. But if you change the script and go off on your own too much, you're done.

All new information to me - I didn't know that.
I recall Brad Pitt gave a short political speech about Congress, or the Senate...I can't remember the awards show, but it was during Trump's term. I guess he must have won something.
I'm glad the rule is NO GOING OFF-SCRIPT...even if it's to promote political views the Oscars establishment agrees with.

Chris Rock should be paying Will commission. He got given a decade of material to use and publicity money wouldn't be able to buy him. Even Rocks brother who also does stand up is cashing in on this.

I'm glad to hear that.
I get that it's just a slap...but I think it's sad that Comedians need to be worried about potentially being assaulted for miscalculated jokes.
Rock seems like a good enough dude. As for Will - if he's in a relationship that is causing him to commit assault, that can't be healthy...

I don't get open relationships...but if the two people are ok with it, then...whatever.
That in itself is a bit messed up to me. But isn't it even more messed up that Will is now committing assault due to Jada?
I think all relationships are weird. My most recent [and most likely LAST] girlfriend didn't want me talking to ANY woman, EVER. Even once. One was too many.
So I assume all relationships are messed up.
But isn't it next level unhealthy to commit assault due to your significant other? Especially when your significant other is taking multiple loads in the snatch from other men? :-X

Chris Rock is one of the greatest standup comedians of all time. He sells out arenas. He doesn't need any help

Give it time. The Academy will parole him.

Many men enter these relationships thinking it will be great getting all that tail. What actually happens is their wife ends up getting miles of dick while the cucked hubby whacks off waiting for his wife to come home at night.
