If the point is Dorian wins then I got it and agree.

I have to disagree. Thats the best jay ever looked...I have him beating dorain

Zero synthol -vs- several 100 cc’s of synthol.
I’ll take zero synthol please.
-
wish i could say jay

sad

I agree that was Jay's best look. Still have Dorian beating him. Respectfully.
-
It's close but Dorian is almost unbeatable

There is definitely a huge difference in video quality between the 2 video clips

But the graininess could not be captured on video anyway, right? ;D

I think that Dorian looked good. But it would’ve been better if there was some HD footage. Based on this footage, Jay looks much drier.
-
1993 Dorian was untouchable.

dorians legs lose to cutler
dorians back beats cutler
cutlers shoulders and arms (suspect)beat dorians visualy
side chest cutler easily
abs and thigh both looked bad
fron lat cutler

Dorian is more cut and has deep lines in his legs. Look at the side triceps pose with the hamstring line separation and the calves details. Jay looked good but Dorians lines and details are on another level.

Jay can't match this. Dorian's legs are a lot more impressive from the side.

I saw Dorian Yates in the off-season in 1995. His quads were extremely impressive from the front. But he over-dieted for his shows, and his quads lost some size. That was one of the mistakes that he made on a regular basis.

dorians legs were not on the level of cutler coleman or even mustaffa muhamed
showing black and white photod of deep cuts? gtfo
this is the only " sport" to have to go backward to progres
classic physique
id say bumstead beats dorian
how the fuck do you like that

Except for Mustaffa, I’ve seen every bodybuilder that you just named, in person... in their prime.
The biggest thighs that I’ve seen in person may have belonged to Gunter Schlierkamp
-
Tbh nobody can beat Dorian, no one, no even Nasser
-
Bumsted over Dorian? One of the stupid fucking quotes ever that Canadian cuck couldn’t hold dorians shot stained posing briefs
-
I'm going 2001 Jay over 93 Dorian.

Ugh...no...
-
93 Yates was the most dominant win in Olympia history. They barely called him out, and that was against big names.
The 96 English Grand Prix captures the closes to seeing Yates in real life, but still had to be seen to be believed. He just looked more 3 dimensional than the guys standing next to him.
-
I think that Dorian was 256-257 in 1993. Jay was around 259 in 2001. Close call. Jay looked drier.
-

I agree 100% not even close

Bumstead is a bad guy

Good assessment.
It almost seems blasphemous to say Dorian was better than Jay, but if you just make a straight comparison, I think Jay beats him in those areas.
Dorian did have a 3D quality, in that he was a lot thicker than most bodybuilders from front to back. I think that's what people mean when they say "You had to be there". But in individual poses, Jay looks better in some.
Too bad about Jay putting things in his arms. Nasser said synthol is as commonly used among pro bodybuilders as toilet paper...so who knows...maybe they all used it [not Dorian - but I don't think it was around then].

Cutler was like 5'7 in person.
93 Dorian waxes him.

He claimed 5'8.5". Dorian claimed 5'10.5".
From my experience meeting pros, some lie about their weight [Dexter comes to mind], but I feel they are honest about their heights.
Jay appeared to be 5'8" or 5'9" to me. He doesn't look too much shorter than Ronnie, who was just under 5'11" at his prime.
Dorian's muscle density was something ahead of almost anyone - up there with Rich Gaspari and others. I don't think it's something you can train for, judging by Jay Cutler never getting to that level of hardness.

I walked right into him accidently in a bathroom in Boston called Avenue C before he turned pro. He was wider than he was tall. Looked awful in a leather coat.
Regardless, 93 Dorian was likely unbeatable. Nobody came close, which is why he had like one call out. And that was against top competition.

One could argue Bumstead's physique is more aesthetic but Dorian's is a lot more impressive.
Dorian had better taper than Cutler. I liked Jay's physique and thought he improved tremendously in 2001. But he was more blocky than Dorian.

Dorian owns Jay in a few poses. Side tricep, front lat spread, ab and thigh. I would give Jay the front double bicep pose.
-
Cutler looks like a fucking marshmallow next to Yates.
-
Really interesting to see how much the physiques changed in such a short period of time.
Jay looked really good there - surprisingly so next to Dorian who is often thought to be one of the best ever.
-
Cutler looks like a fucking marshmallow next to Yates.
this
Its not just a different year it looks like a different fucking sport
Cutler looks like a fucking water bed next to Dorian
-
2001... I’m not really seeing the validity of the “water bed” comment

Jay never came close to looking that good again.
Dorian wins the quarter turns.
Abs/thighs
FLS
Side Tri's
RLS
If were talking 93 Yates, he wins all the mandatories.
-
Seen both guys at their very best, was at the 2001 show, lighting is advantageous to Jay as a comparison, and that was jays best ever condition, but its not even close, Yates 93 was another level, it was like his skin from head to toe was cling wrap, you could see his definition in the dark, Jay had similar great condition front quads but backstage and away from the stage lighting, Dorian in the same light at his 93 best would have made Jay look smooth.

Unfortunately for Jay, after 2001, he was forced into playing the size game to compete with Ronnie.
This shot of Dorian is bananas. It’s probably his least impressive pose, and he still dominated

Jay was a couple inches shorter too, 5'8" vs 5'10-11"

5'7" tops

I think that we can all agree that both ‘93 Dorian and ‘01 Jay shocked people with their physique improvements. You can’t ask for more than that.

I've stood within a foot of all 3 of them at one time or another at the Night of Champions or NY Pro show. I am 5'10, Ronnie had a good inch on me and Dorian seemed to as well. Jay 5'8 MAX probably 5'7 1/2
-
Jay 5'8 MAX probably 5'7 1/2
Exactly.

True.
Can also agree 93 Dorian would beat him easily.
-

Yeah I think that Dorian would’ve won
Jay’s back didn’t have enough thickness in 2001
-
01 jay is probably the best competitive body on the olympia stage to not win the title, definitely his best look he was never that hard again
but i don't see how he would beat 93 dorian, he wins front double bicep and that's it, maybe side chest and abs and thighs as jay that year had the most diced quads and abs i've ever seen on a guy that big
dorian easily wins the two back poses, front lat spread, and side tricep
E

93 Dorian had no torn muscles yet. 93 Dorian wins every pose against any version of Jay.

Doz always overdieted, with perhaps the exception of the '97 Olympia. Even then, he says the insulin was what fucked him up.
Edit: I forgot '94. He had a bloated stomach in that show, but he was still shredded after being sick for over a week. That, and his tan and weird, overly oiled sheen hurt his overall look.

I don't see a glaringly obvious tear there. His biceps still look big and full.
-
Epic lean face on Dorian.

Jay is an alpha male, a shot caller, a businessman--no, a business, man; his charisma lights up the room. Dorian would wilt under the pressure
