"Just received the devastating news Muscle Beach Hall of Famer, EDDIE GIULIANI, passed away yesterday at the age of 87. Eddie was IFBB 1975 Mr. World. Inducted into the Muscle Beach Hall of Fame by Oscar award winning actor AL PACINO in 2012, a ceremony none of us will ever forget. Please keep both his daughters Maria Giuliani Farley, Andrea Giuliani Gonzales and their families in your prayers. He was a very dear friend of mine. Spoke to him everyday, sometimes three times a day. I'm going to miss him dearly. One of the greats in our industry."

He seemed like a retard jumping on Arnold in Pumping Iron.
Will be fondly remembered for his services to red Apple.

That was all scripted for the movie.

Yup. It was a "mocumentary" of sorts. All planned, all scripted.

Hopefully not long

Eddie was a personal friend and let me train for free at World Gym Venice. He used to say "Don't let Joe see you. He knows every paying member and will ask me 'who's that guy'? So just stay out of his way!" I'll always remember the countless hours I spent bullshitting with him at the front desk and discussing bodybuilding and life. I've even been to his house to fix his cable. He also used to ask me to bring him back Devil Dogs when I visited NY. I still have some of the many tank tops and tee shirts he gave me.
I regret not being able to get in touch with him after I left LA. Alas, it's too late now. PIP Paisan.

Haha, no queer crap. I remember the day they launched Operation Desert Storm. I was standing at the front desk with Lou Ferrigno and Eddie had the TV on. The were showing footage of missiles being launched and Lou said in his best hard of hearing voice, "Boy, this is some serious shit!"
And yeah it was some good fun. Don Ross was really funny. Artie Zeller was a funny guy as well. Zabo was just cool. The late eighties and early nineties when bodybuilding was at it's best!

RIP to one of the true nice guys of the sport.

Eddie Giuliani was 40 years old when Pumping Iron was made.
Only 5 years younger than Bill Pearl.
-
I used to see Giulianni in the gym training with Arnold, Columbu, Zane, he was a short, loud, wisecracking east coast type guy, seemed like a good guy.
