It’s good to see Jay back in prime time and that Ronnie has fully recovered!

I hope he’s got a comeback in him, one last dance type of thing.

Great find!

He was also on Leno in 2005.

Too bad he has to lie ever so slightly, as if his real measurements and things weren't impressive enough.

Guaranteed Geena Davis had never seen anything like that before - or after.

It's funny, but yeah.

Not even close.

Do you think the average man can get to 250-lb at 15% body fat, on gear, but Ronnie getting to 335-lb at, what, 10-12%, puts him something like 50- to 80-lb or more in potential compared to the average man?

Or was it Ronnie just being so wild with his dosages to get there?

Ronald Dean Coleman was created by God to dominate bodybuilding.  No one has or ever will come remotely close to the superior physique of prime Ronnie Coleman

He just had some super genetics and trained heavier than anyone else. He was big when he played linebacker in college for Grambling state. Of course he had good juice also.

This is where Narcissistic Deity and I disagree.

I don't see anyone in bodybuilding history being more dominant than Ronnie. Now - you can argue that Dorian Yates was the hardest 255+ pound man. Maybe. But I just don't see him beating Ronnie when Ronnie was 30+ pounds heavier, still lean AF, and uninjured at that time.

Super genetics - that's for sure [IMO].

Do you think it's safe to say that his genetic max is a solid 60-lb heavier than another man of around 5'10"?

There must be some reason why we've never seen another freak like Ronnie.

I had only seen stills of this appearance for years (like most of you guys I guess), and I was actually blown away by how well Ronnie did at this show, how funny and quick at repartee he was. That's probably the best "performance" of an IFBB-Pro on a mainstream TV show in between A-list celebrities I've ever seen :o

I thought so too, great performance by Big Ron.

I think another part of the equation is he worked hard in the gym consistently and had fun doing it.  Someone mentioned when Ronnie worked out it was like he was a kid a Disneyland.

I wonder what kind of hand shacke did Ronnie gave the host. One of those strong grip type or the cadaver hand like ones.

talks about a high pain threshold, training with a herniated disc

Unless he was on some mind bending dosgaes of opiates and anti inflammatories, working out is just impossible
If your back is in spasm then you just cant move, even picking a cup of coffee up is damn near impossible

I think we concluded a few years ago Ronnie was on them opiums.

Yeah, budday!  Ise loves me sum dere dat osseecondoms!

:)

I actually like Ronnie.  He was an amazing bodybuilder.  At his best, I think Yates is the only guy in bodybuilding who could match him.

However, I call a spade a spade -- and that's not a racial thing; I don't give a flying fuck what color he is -- so the fact remains, he's to bodybuilding as Grimlock was to the Autobots:  a big, if amusing, greatly overpowered dummy.

Fellow Transformers geeks will understand the analogy :)

I wish I were so lucky.  I have my ailments, but a crippled Ronnie is seemingly happy and set up for life.  In the end, maybe it is "smart" me who is truly the fool?

In the end, it doesn't matter.  As it was said at the ending of Barry Lyndon:

..."It was in the reign of George III that the aforesaid personages lived and quarreled; good or bad, handsome or ugly, rich or poor they are all equal now.”

...dead and rotting in the Earth, for the slow to uptake ;)
