Film critic Leonard Maltin grew up in Teaneck, NJ.
Why did the show move?
It used to be the Night of Champions, but Wayne Demilia took the name when he left the IFBB in 2005.

True. But I think he's got at least a bit of character, which makes a change. And I'll confess that I'm so pathetic I still find his 'creatine' video funny, so what do I know? ;D

They'll probably claim it's something else, but fewer and fewer people care about bodybuilding. Anywhere in most of the 5 boros of NYC is going to be expensive to produce the show. They moved it to the Westchester County Center for a few years, which is to be honest, bland but close to NYC. I'm sure Teaneck, NJ is a similar thing, cheaper and close enough to NY.

Wow. I hadn't thought of that. That makes sense.
I guess since getting the other weight categories now, people are able to compete without utterly juicing to the gills. That's probably impacted the level of bodybuilding competition slightly, and made the audience more diffuse.
