Lee, is American drag racing popular at all in Australia? What kind of following does NASCAR have? I would imagine F1 is big in Australia?

Yer f1 is pretty big now we have the race in melbourne and mark webber but v8s supercars are still the biggest motorsport in australia nothin like the sound of a v8 go the HOLDENS.

baseball = cricket for the poor

Post by: marcie999 on April 25, 2006, 11:39:59 PM: You only see Nascar on the news on sports editions that show the crashes. Drivers dying usually makes a 10 second mention, ie blink and you missed it.

F1 is huge but thats cos a bunch of posers that want to be "seen" come out of the woodwork when its on every year, and then bugger off afterwards. v8's are popular. Bathurst gets a lot of interest.

Anyways, congrats Lee. Keep em guessing.

Do you remember back in 91-92 when the Skyline GTR dominated the V8s? They changed the rules after this so that only V8s could race thus the V8 supercar series was born. It wasn't really fair to have the technologically advanced GTR racing against the dinosaur Holdens and Fords.
