'Curd' Edmonds began chinning in earnest at the age of 56 and accomplished 41 consecutive reps that year in 1968. But he didn't stop there. In 1976 at the age of 64 he broke the 100 consecutive rep barrier having performed 102. Two years later in 1978 at the age of 66, 'Curd' broke his own record with 117 consecutive reps. How did he do it? By doing everything right. And doing everything right included a vegan diet. In fact, Curd was the first "organic" farmer in his county.

Is Curd Edmonds the guy that was related to Ken Waller and made some negative statement about Waller's health habits, or something along those lines, and, when Waller was asked his response by a bodybuilding mag writer, the writer said Ken's reaction was "unprintable".

not sure, but they are both from Kentucky, so it might be. actually Waller was born in Indiana and went to college in Kentucky.

Brutal if true

Lets not forget crossfitters claim to do 100s not all pullups and chinups are created the same

Damn, I must be a rookie still, because what the OP posted in the picture and what Franco was talking about as a "chin up" is not what I thought I chin up was.
Here's what I always a thought a chin-up vs a pull-up was:

Pretty impressive. At 56 (in a few days) I cant come close to 41.
For very light, skinny/strong guys, high-rep pullups arent that impressive.
But his age and 41 reps (then he improved w/ age) that's excellent.
I mentioned last week about my buddy "Driz", weighs 260 lbs, 46 years old, hung a 25 lb. Kettlebell from a belt and banged out 12 slow/strict reps on the pullup bar.
I dont see that too often.
